Drafting in 35 minutes...who say you?

Recommended Posts

After keepers were locked, I will be picking third from the pool of non keepers that includes CMC, Ekeler, JJ, Kupp and Chase starting in 35 minutes.

10 Team league 0.5 PPR.

Rank those 5 in your order.

Once the second round starts, I will have the 5th pick.

I should add how I listed them is my order.

Lineup rules and who did you keep?

I personally have Ekeler behind the WRs (though in 0.5 PPR could make argument for Ekeler over them) and have Chase ahead of Kupp.

Now, lineup rules could swing that a bit (ie 1 RB only reduces RB value, 3 WR required could increase WR value, etc.)

Standard ESPN rules.  I did not keep anybody.  I could have kept Chase but decided to make a play for CMC.   I will definitely get one of those 5, and one of the WRs will be available so it turned out ok.

It went pretty much as expected.  Only one guy ahead of me did not keep a player.

So at pick 5, I had my choice of anybody not named Henry, Taylor, Chubb, Cook and Kupp.  So I was debating between CMC and Ekeler with my brain, but then my gut took over and I clicked on JJ...the guy I was hoping to somehow get all week.   Actually came one pick away from getting Chase in the 2nd, when he was taken I pivoted to Kelce.  Grabbed Barkley in the 3rd, Josh Allen in the 4th, which caused exactly what I thought...a huge run on QBs.  Then in order i grabbed Etienne Jr, Elijah Mitchell, Gabe Davis, Allen Robinson, Antonio Gibson, AJ Dillon, Drake London, Trey Lance, Trevor Lawrence, Irv Smith, Treylon Burks, Christian Watson, Broncos, Robby Gould and lastly Matt Breida (backup to Barkley).  Our benches are huge so almost forced to have a backup at the TE/D or K position.

It was hard to let the more well known names go by when I was drafting those young WRs, but last year I drafted Chase, Waddle and D Smith and it worked out well.

I know many would not even draft a 2nd QB, but the last few years I have had horrible luck at the QB spot in all my leagues...not letting that happen again.  And if Lance or Lawrence blows up, could be a nice trade piece.

Like everybody this time of year, I like my chances.

Only mistake I made was drafting Gould...same bye week and the Broncos D.  I typically like to only use one roster spot if I have a K and D that I want to keep.  But that is week 9.  Might be toast by then anyways!
