Don't draft back up QB or TE?

12-team PPR starts 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE.  Deep bench (8) as no trading is allowed.

I'm thinking of only drafting 1 QB and 1 TE (no backups), and using the waiver wire to fill in for the bye weeks.  This would allow me to capture more speculative RBs and/or WRs at the end of the draft and see who shakes out (think Isiah Pacheco, Nico Collins, Wan'Dale Robinson, Josh Palmer, etc.).

It probably means I'll end up with 6 RBs and 6-7 WRs for week 1.

What do you think?

10 team, sure.  But 12, I think a decent BU qb is essential in the event of injury.  who is the 24th-30th QB?   Will a few other managers see your weakness and stash the last few?  Everyone will have 2.  Someone will have 3.   Its all fun and games until you are starting Lock in the championships, right?

TE  once you get past the top 6 its a crap shoot for the mid terms IMO/IME, so I am all good streaming in the event that Kittle gets injured.

Thats hjow I see it, let's see how the smarter guys see it.

Depends on how specific drafts fall, but that's what I often do. However, I had a draft fall yesterday where I already had Kyler Murray but later in the 10th/11th round Tom Brady was still sitting there, and all my RB/WR/Flex spots were filled as well as a couple of bench slots, so I went ahead and grabbed him. All depends.

Our league has similar starting lineup (but also K & D) with 12 teams, and similar bench spots. I may not carry an extra D or K, but always have QB and usually TE. With no trading waivers play a bigger role too. also 8 spots is a lot to use on just RB/WR.

Don't get caught with your pants down ;)
