rajncajn
Caught five of eight targets for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Not a "stellar" day on paper aside from the touchdowns, but most of what hurt his production was Winston taking more than the first half to knock the rust off. The three incompletes were badly off timing patterns, which should improve as the season progresses. Another positive outlook is Winston was scrambling a lot in this game (sacked 4 times) and the Saints offensive line should settle down some giving Winston more time to throw. Overall Thomas looked really good on the field, making his cuts crisp, running away from defenders and showing the strength to fight for contested throws that he's always been been known. It's obviously just one game, but he appears to have picked up where he left off and hasn't lost anything.
Yoyo
Don't know if that o-line will improve, and it was verse the Falcons. Regardless, I had him on my bench this week but will likely move him in to start this week after the disappearing act Thielen and Arob pulled. Just have to decide between those two ghosts which to start along with Adams and Thomas.

stevegrab
Probably going to be in my line-up next week (with Adams & Pittman), unless Jeudy goes off tonight and wins my game for me and looks to have a big role going forward. His 17.7 points would have already given me the win, but I just could not plug him in yet. (At least I sat Amari Cooper for Jeudy or else I'd already have lost.) 1fastdoc
Good news to hear. I wasn't able to watch that game. I'm still bitter than I traded him away for Thielen a few games before Thomas launched into his best season. Then I trade Evans to get Thomas back right before the injury. This dude has been a bigger bench warmer than AB was.
Shorttynaz
Olave seems like the one whose production will only increase week after week. I'm pretty happy if I was able to snag him in my draft(s) or can acquire him at a sellers lack of recognizing the mid-late season beast he's gonna be. gilthorp
Good info - stuff like that gets to the right people and he'll see more targets. I actually started him in a flex this week over B Hall - not sure I want to do that against TB to be honest.
stevegrab
Is there any news on MT, is he going to return this week? Next? No idea? I know the initial time line was 4 weeks, and the team considered putting him on IR. He wasn't ready for Thursday, was still missing some practice time. I'm on the verge of cutting him, because I'm going to need a 3rd WR for week 9 and my other 2 backups are also on bye. I'm in a bind with byes in week 9 and am going to need him, or replace one of the other guys on bye (maybe Jeudy). I am intrigued by Wan'Dale Robinson, but he also has a week 9 bye, so I'm not grabbing him.

Nothing at all yet from the Saints board.

There was an earlier report that suggested he did practice when he was only present at practice, which is still an upgrade over not being there at all. One of the better Saints beat writers said that he participated in the walk-thru and then exited the field.
stevegrab
This is what I read yesterday (below) I'm hoping he is back next week when I have the need for a WR who isn't on bye. If not he's going to get cut for the best one week play I can find. Saints' Michael Thomas: Doesn't practice Wednesday 16 hrs ago | by RotoWire Staff Thomas (foot) didn't practice Wednesday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. Thomas made a brief appearance during the team stretch prior to the session, but he again isn't healthy enough to mix into drills. Fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry (ankle) also is tending to an injury, leaving rookie Chris Olave, Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith as the available wide receivers for quarterback Andy Dalton. Thomas' status should continue to be monitored, though, to get a sense of when he may be able to rejoin the Saints' receiving corps.
1fastdoc
This guy is doing what Jordan Reed did to my team years ago. Sitting on the bench with the potential to be elite but once an injury occurs, all downhill.

It's not like we need a win right now, we're 2-5, we'll be good. We wouldn't want you to suck it up and play through it.
darin3
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they shut the guy down for the entire season. Sure, the NFC-S is winnable but this Saints team isn't going to do anything in the playoffs.

I suppose that could be, it would suck for the Saints as that would mean 2 of his cheap years on the new contract were wasted, he's making $1M a year now (same in 2020 & 21), and then 15.5 & 18.5 in the next 2 seasons. He's 29 years old and has become a risk. I think his only chance to play with the Saints next year for that kind of money is to prove he can this year. O/w he's going to follow in the footsteps of so many other 30 year old WR's and go work for a random team on a prove-you're-worth-it contract. While still talented he's a liability at this point. He just can't stay on the field and it doesn't get better with age. They'll shut him down soon and he'll miss another half a season.
