So what is the opinion on OBJr?

MIAMI (AP) — NFL free agent Odell Beckham Jr. was removed by police from an aircraft before takeoff at Miami International Airport after officials said he failed to respond to requests to buckle his seatbelt and appeared to be unconscious, police and airline officials said Sunday.

“Fearing that Mr. Beckham was seriously ill, and that his condition would worsen through the expected 5 hour flight, (flight crew members) called for police and fire rescue,” Miami Dade Police Officer Luis Sierra said in a statement following the 9:30 a.m. Sunday incident.

“As they tried to wake (Beckham) to fasten his seat belt, he appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness,” the statement said.

American Airlines representative Alfredo Garduno confirmed that flight 1228 to Los Angeles returned to the gate before takeoff “due to a customer failing to follow crew members’ instructions and refusing to fasten their seat belt.”

Carlos Gauna, a passenger in business class, said he recognized Beckham before boarding the flight and later used his cellphone camera to record him walking through the airport terminal with police. He said Beckham had been seated in first class.

“He just walked quietly. Police escorted him out,” Gauna said, adding that the flight was full and he heard “grumblings” among other passengers.

Gauna, a filmmaker, was returning home to Camarillo, California, near Los Angeles, after more than two weeks documenting sharks in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Brazil.

He said the aircraft was taxiing toward takeoff when the captain announced “a situation with a passenger” required a return to the terminal. Gauna said an ambulance arrived and paramedics boarded the aircraft and spoke with Beckham before police removed him.

The other passengers re-boarded and the flight departed later for Los Angeles, where Gauna spoke with The Associated Press

A Twitter post attributed to Beckham appeared to refer to the incident, saying, “Never in my life have I experienced what just happened to me,” and adding with a misspelling that he had “seen it alll.”

Police said Beckham “was escorted to the non-secure area of the terminal by the officers where he made other arrangements.”

Sierra did not immediately respond to questions about whether Beckham had been arrested or was cited for a criminal offense.

Beckham, 30, is a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver who has been a free agent since helping the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl last February. He caught a touchdown pass before tearing a knee ligament in that 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Beckham has been reported to be near a return to the league and the Dallas Cowboys have said they want to sign him.

Several other teams are expected to pursue Beckham, who had been at the center of controversy in previous stops with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns.

He ain't never seen nothing like this in his life, how dare somebody require him to follow the rules.

Now who wants to sign this guy to a big juicy contract?  Oh right, Cowboys, I hope they do it then go down in flames.

Statement from OBJ's attorney, basically "He fell asleep and never heard anybody tell him to put his seat belt on, woke up back at the gate being told he needed to get off the plane".  Sure dude, sure. Then overzealous flight crews made it all worse as he was ready to comply after awakening from his nap.

His attorney vehemently defends him and makes statements based solely off what OBJ told him, he wasn't there, and I suspect there will be plenty of video evidence to show what OBJ was or wasn't doing on the plane.

When I fly , if its a longish flight , I pop a full zanax . Id assume something like this happened and he was zonked . As far as OBJ as a player. I never liked him as a person . Bad attitude , selfish , team cancer kind of guy. Talentwise , he has amazing hands . Not sure what's in the tank after two consecutive acl recoveries . The who gets OBJ saga is a little over rated if you ask me. He isn't Jerry Rice. I think he can help a team. If Dallas gets him , so be it. Ill be a little indifferent to it to be honest. I think Gallup has awesome hands but would agree if OBJ is healthy, he is an upgrade. I don't think he is the lock difference maker he is being made out to be , but he can help like he did with the rams last year

It's a good point, I forgot about people who take sedatives before flights, I think that's likely correct. Maybe not as bad as I was thinking. Still a bit odd to need to have paramedics called though.

The guy tore his ACL - for the second time - in the Super Bowl.  Aren't ACL's usually 12-month rehabs or has it been shortened to 9 or so?  I doubt this guy means anything fantasy-wise this year.  He may help a team in the NFL playoffs but I doubt the guy does anything of relevance to us fantasy geeks.

As for the airplane, the dude was obviously high as a kite and just didn't respond.

Bad is relative and related to use.    Guy was high as a kite.   Of that I have no doubt.   Do with that what you want.

The thing I'm having trouble with is even if he was high on something, how does he suddenly respond after they return to the gate, and not any of the times they were trying to get him to put his seatbelt on before that. I doubt they just spoke softly to him once then headed back to the gate.

Of course if he was high on something he or his attorney could just come clean, but then that might be a problem for his NFL future.

If we was going to be napping and on something to knock him out he could have just buckled his belt when he got on the plane and asked the flight crew not to disturb his rest.

OBJ was dropped this week in my league for a defense on a waiver move. He has since cleared our next waiver run and is a free agent.

According to reports he has a visit scheduled today and tomorrow with the Giants, and then visits with Cowboys and Bills after the weekend.

One thing odd I've noticed on CBS Fantasy site, he is being listed as a member of the Rams with games and upcoming schedule type information. He's a free agent and should not have any team assigned. See the same with Antonio Brown shown on TB, I guess they just don't have a FA type of team designation.

Is Jerry Rice still available?

So OBJ is having all these visits with teams, but he's not ready to workout for anybody at this time. And somehow he's expecting to get signed, and to a nice deal? The writer in the story below said it was more like a college recruiting visit.

Yeah, there's a lot there to unpack. Is he healed, is he in football shape, is his headspace good, etc?
