gilthorp
I was thinking last night that Dallas and Chicago need to part ways with their inept head coaches, but didn't think Allen in NO would be the first to go. Who else?
Big John
Jets were first when they fired Saleh.
gilthorp
Yes he was. How about moving forward as to who has a job today but will get fired in-season? I guess nobody else better lose to the Panthers.
stevegrab
I could see some changes in CLE after this abysmal season. Rumors were swirling yesterday that DL Zadarius Smith was being traded. If a first year head coach like Canales in CAR is on the hot seat, what about Doug Pederson, the Jags have regressed this year after 2 seasons at 9-8. The Raiders are a mess, and Pierce's 5-4 stint as interim hasn't worked out thru 9 games. Dolphins blow, does Mike McDaniel get a pass for 2 decent years and Tua missing time with injuries? Jerod Mayo another 1st year HC not doing well. Plenty of people to be fired, 4 used to be normal, now its closer to 8 each year, how long before 10-12 or more is the norm. Yoyo
Well, the answer is Dennis Allen. Finally.
stevegrab
Apparently the owner (Gail Benson) reached out to several players looking to see if Allen had support in the locker room, and found very little. Several players told her changes were needed, and urgently. https://www.si.com/nfl/saints-players-gayle-benson-dennis-allen
gilthorp
That's always a good sign when the owner secretly calls players about their coach. That wouldn't happen in Chicago because the owners don't give a sh!t and they are too busy counting their fat stacks.
rajncajn
Supposedly there was a "player meeting" earlier this week. I think that was actually Mrs Gayle getting together with the team to discuss team support for DA.

The #1 pick is already on his 2nd OC and has a coach that will be fired at the end of the year. Trubifields. It's a new word in the dictionary. Dcat
As for the Jets, the truth behind the curtain is that Woody Johnson is now running all the decisions and Joe Douglas just goes and does whatever he is instructed to do. The guy is a dead-man walking. His response when being asked a question about decision making: "I serve at the pleasure of the owner". Think about that. He is telling everyone that he is done here. Woody Johnson making EVERY decision now and telling JD to go implement it. New GM next season. Douglas should just quit rather than walking around the building with Woody's leash around his neck.
stevegrab
I'd like to thank the idiots with the Jets and Raiders organizations for destroying Adams value. In 4 games with Jets he's averaging 5-50-0.25 on 10 targets a game. Kind of hoping he'll sit out so I can easily ignore his "potential" and play somebody else who scores same 5-6 points. Not that he was great in LV with their horrible QBs and bad coaching.

Lots of disgusting similarities in NY and Chicago. Owners counting their fat stacks with little desire to truly win. They can all they want about it, but their franchises are laughing stocks, and GM's are figure heads. Look at the culture turn around in Washington as to how easy it is to put the train on the right tracks.
