circlejerks
Maurice Hicks will be starting for Barlow against the terrible rush D of AZ... I am thinking of playing him this week in the playoffs.... but if I did play him I would have to sit either Issac Bruce or Burleson of Minnesota ..... What would you do ? would you play Hicks or leave your line up as is playing Bruce and Burleson and go on with life ?? TD league only... only extra points you get for yardage is ONLY over 100 yards...
dirtyharry
Since it's a TD only league, I'd stick with Bruce and Burleson. No question on Bruce and in Minnesota with R Moss clearly not 100% Burleson has been a good option for C-Pep. Good luck Please see my post
SeductiveNun
For what it's worth, AZ defense plays better at home. That, combined with the fact that Dorsey will strangle the SF offense single handedly leads me to believe that you do NOT take the gamble on Maurice Hicks this week. In a TD only league, you are much better off with the proven commodities of Bruce and Burleson this week.
ajh2
Leave Hicks on the pine. Pass the ball with Burelson and Bruce.
Skrappy1
FWIW, this interesting little tidbit comes from Fanball: The Cardinals' defense has only surrendered one rushing touchdown at home this season, so Hicks is not a solid replacement candidate. Monsters Of The Midway
I'm actually going to go against the grain here simply based on targets when Chandler is in. Let's look at the St. Louis game by quarter and targets between Bruce and Holt 1st QUARTER: Bruce = 1 target / 1 reception Holt = 3 targets / 3 receptions 2ND QUARTER: Bruce = 2 and 1 Holt = 5 and 3 3RD QUARTER: Bruce = 0 and 0 Holt = 1 and 1 4TH QUARTER Bruce = 0 and 0 Holt = 2 and 2 Once Chandler came in, he looked Bruce's way a total of 2 times in 3 quarters. Shawn McDonald and Steven Jackson got more looks. Holt and McDonald got ALL the looks from Chandler when inside the opponent 39 yard line. That being said. I would feel comfortable benching Bruce this week in favor of Hicks.
yo mama
The thing about Arizona is that they also have allowed the 3rd most rushing yards of any team. Also, Hicks could be a more useful play if you get points in the return game. If not, his appeal is much less.
JET FAN
I'd say skip Hicks. Dorsey is at the San Fran helm, I believe, and that Offense is terrible. If your gonna gamble, sit Bruce since Chandler is in at QB vs. Carolina. See my post.
Ben-waa
Since it is a TD only league, I think that you should stay with what you have in there right now. We just haven't seen enough of Hicks to determine how SF will use him in the red zone. Monster's analysis above was very interesting, though. I think that after a week of taking snaps with the first string, things should improve between him and Bruce, Good Luck Ben
Hondop
hee hee hee "skip hicks" hee hee anyhoo, I also think you give some thought to playing Hicks this week and sitting Bruce. I could be entirely wrong here, but the thing that keeps occuring to me is, with Dorsey at the helm, the only chance SF has to score is Hicks. I like Dorsey, he seems like a good guy, but when he plays SF is 10 times worse. then again, that means they'll have fewer scoring chances overall. Another thing, Carolina is tough against the pass usually.
