Bombs Away
Projecting snow on sunday. Is he still a good start or should I consider Collins, Palmer or Testaverde?
nhoops
Thanks for the reply Wow, really tough call. Vinny plays NO who could give up alot to both Jones and Vinny Palmer plays a tough NE D, but he's been on fire and may get some garbage numbers in the 4th Favre had an aweful week against Philly. plays at home against a less talented division foe. He needs to and will bounce back this week. Leaning towards Favre but Vinny is a good option as well, I've never been a big Vinny fan (former JET) and have trouble reccomending him. Clear as mud, right....sorry Edit: Forgot Collins, he's been on a tare lately but faces a tough ATL team coming of a bad loss to TB. I'd go with Favre but all are decent options this week. Bombs Away
Thanks Nhoops. Yea, I'd love to go with Testaverde, but how can you sit Favre.
wildbluefan
Take Favre in mud , earthquake, blizzard, volcano, sunami, hurricane or SNOW ! ! Any others I forgot ? Especially vs Det KITTENS !
4TheKids
Its tough to bench Farve. I think he will bounce back with a vengance this week no matter what the weather is. Pls see my post!
Scrambled
I hope Favre does well as i got Walker going this weekend and its playoff time and i need a win
Scooby
Historically, some of Favre's best games have been in cold, icy, snowy conditions. Don't sweat it; just start him.
Handyman
I need a big game out of Farve this wek, especially after the egg (-2) he gave me last week.
Randall
Looks more like an 18MPH wind problem with the latest forecast. He throws better in the wind than the competition, but wind is never good. EDIT LINK Edited December 10, 2004 by Randall
dillweed_ds
Being a cheesehead, I say what are you thinking. Farve for President. Play him already. They play the Lions who are without their growl right now. I am insulted you even considered benching him. Seriously though, Vinny could do good this week also. First, he is going against the terrible NO D. Second, he now has an awesome running game from JJ to take some of the focus off the passing game and specifically in the red zone. Defenses now have to worry about an awesome running back who can score (3 TD's last week). So Parcels might try to exploit the defenses by establishing the run and using JJ as a decoy sometimes to pull the defense up and then Vinny can air it out. Remember the beginning of the year, Vinny was throwing for 400 yards most games. In spite of all this though, I still say that Favre will have an awesome game because he is a competitor and got embarrassed last week. He plays well in the cold and snow, uses it to his advantage. Good luck whichever way you go. I forgot to mention, currently the weather by Green Bay is rainy. It has been raining all of yesterday, all of last night and is still raining right now. I have not heard of it snowing on Sunday and if so only lightly, but you just never know in Wisconsin. pzarvell
I don't think Favre has ever seen snow before.
Mooker Man
I have the same decision, and I think Farve will have something to prove this week. I thnk we are in for a good game from Farve, in any weather. I am goingto sit Collins over Farve.
Phat Rugby
Favre will do well and the snoe will help. Snowy conditions are bad for the running game and great for the passing game. Even Collins threw well in the Denver snow.
Bombs Away
Lots of great input, I appreciate it. Thats an interesting observation on Testaverde, tempting too. I believe Collins will be turnover prone this week, and will have a hard time with the ATL pass rush. Favre will be out to prove himself, now I heard that their center is either out of dinged up. How's Favre's protection going to hold up? I do like the Testaverde angle, I'm starting K. Johnson and my hero Julius Jones. Maybe I should go for the trifecta?! The offense should explode in Dallas. I'm going with Vinny
Grits and Shins
I have not been able to recommend Vinny all season long ... I just can't do it. In your shoes I wouldn't hesitate to start Favre and weather is not a factor when you are talking about Favre ... he may even play better in the snow. I expect Vinny's numbers against NO will be similiar to his numbers against Seattle.

I believe Brett will have an average night. Hey, I benched him last week for Collins, people thought I was crazy. I would have lost if I've had started Favre. My gut tells me Vinny is a good start at home this week. The Saints will be stacking the line against Jones, that will really open it up for some big pass plays. DemonKnight
I think Favre is a great start. Refer to the Denver/Oakland game and the night that those QB's had. It becomes much harder to make cuts on slick turf so DB's have to play much softer coverage... Id start Favre in very good spirits!!
giantsfan
Personally, and I am playing against the guy who has Favre in my first playoff game this weekend, that he will throw for 3 TD's. Combine last week's awful game and the fact that Det stinks and I really feel that strongly.
nadecir
I am with Randal on this one, the forecasted winds in Green Bay on Sunday are the big problem. The mid to longer passes are going to be a problem in 23 mph wind, which is now the forecast. And combine that with the rain or snow, and I think Favre's numbers will be below average this Sunday. You might want to look elsewhere for a QB this weekend. The current forecast for Green Bay for Sunday from the weather.com: AM Rain / Snow Showers / Wind Daytime High:40°F Overnight Low:20°F Probability of Precipitation: 40% Wind: From the West at 23 mphC
NavinRJohnson
Are you kidding me? Favre vs. Vinny? Benching Favre because the weather is bad ? Only bench him if he's playing in a dome in December! Bring on the rain and/or snow. p.s. The Saints D is so bad, that Vinny might not throw it 10 times. Expect a big JJ day. No one's questioning Favre's greatness, its all about fantasy points. The weather is going to be a factor, Dallas will be sunny and 70. Sorry got to go with the matchups this week.
