Hugh 0ne
Well huddlers, I hope I have been able to give you some good advice or insight throughout the weeks, and I hope you've enjoyed reading my commentary. Unfortunately, the season has come to its final week, as has my weekly column. So, for one last time: You know the drill. aaronbfunk
Oh Great Hugh One! Me seeks advice of yours for the championship game in my league... Tomlinson vs KC (even though SD is probably going to rest LT as much as possible) OR Deuce McAllister @ CAR I'd like to stick w/the consistency that LT has brought to my team this year, but I'm worried about his playing time... Thanks, Aaron

Thanks, Aaron 636479 I think I go with McAllister. He's been very active, is coming off a good week, and just really doubt we'll see a lot of LT. The Chargers will try and get him a TD to keep the streak going, but that should be the extent of it.

jaxfactor
Hi Hugh! First, I'd like to thank you for all your great advice this year. I won 2 championships and am playing in the title game in a third league. I'm ecstatic! This league's scoring system is pretty rough. 1 pt per 40 yds. passing 1 pt. per 20 yds. rushing/recieving No points for catches All TDs are 6 pts. I don't ususally ask for most of my starting roster. I've made my choices and just wish to see if you agree. Start 1 QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, 1TE, etc Brees, Carr, Greise LT, D. Davis, Droughns Ch. Johnson, Galloway, Houshyourdaddy, Branch, Plaxico Does Heap start this week? If not, I can pick up Teyo Johnson. Thanks again and hope you have a safe and Happy New Year and all the best in 2005!!!! Mjbdisc
Hugh have peyton as my starter but think I must bench him. my options are harrington vs horrible titans, ramsey vs minny, or josh mccown vs tampa. I am leaning Mccown as I think tampa's d is overrated, see last week, and they have nothing to play for. over the last 4 weeks mccown has outperformed peyton in my league and far outperformed ramsey and harrington. (I also could pick up eli, vinny, etc...) I am all set with my RBs, deuce, curtis and pittman but I need 2 WRs from the following roy williams @ Ten porter vs jacksonville jimmy smith @ Oak clayton @ zona smith is $$$ but how well will leftwich play against a weak oakland pass d? roy williams has a tasty matchup but can you trust him? clayton has been so consistent but grise is banged up and zona is much easier to run on than pass on. and porter has a contract to play for but I expect jacksonville to double-team him as he is the only real downfield threat. thanks for the advice and happy new year. Thanks again and hope you have a safe and Happy New Year and all the best in 2005!!!! 636490 Predictions with guys on teams that have no reason to play are extremely difficult. My rule of thumb is pretty simple: stay away if you have other decent options. So, at QB, Brees is normally the obvious choice, but I wouldn't start him, I'd start Griese. At RB I'd start Davis and Droughns. This is a no-brainer IMO, since both Droughns and Davis have excellent matchups, and we likely won't see more than afew touches and a rushing TD from LT. Start CJ. Start Galloway, and although you're putting a couple eggs in one basket it's probably the right move. Third one is a tough one. No real good options. With Maddox at QB and no reason for Burress to play the entire game, I think I'd bench him. NE might bench players as well, but with the matchup against the 49ers I think I'd start Branch over Houshmanzadeh, especially since you are already starting CJ. I would start Heap. Benching Manning is the right call, but who to start in his place is tough. I think I'd go with Ramsey. The Vikes suck, believe me, I'm a Vikes fan. But they can score, which may force the Skins to throw, and anyone can throw against the Vikes. Yep, start Ramsey. ROy Williams is a good option because of the matchup. Last time he had a good matchup he scored twice against the Vikes. Jimmy Smith should bounce back with a great matchup. Clayton is a decent option, Porter is a decent option. Start Williams and Smith.

Marauders11
Here's atough one for you- Eddie Kennison or Lav Coles? Both have good match-ups (considering SD will likely be resting players on defense for at least a half), but both can be hit or miss. 1 point per reception factored in too... darin3
Hey Hugh. Hope your holiday season is going well. Playing for pride... playing for a chance at a cash prize for most points... so every bit of info helps! QB: Carr or Hasselbeck? Both are listed as "X" on the S/B list. Hasselbeck might not even play (I would, however, get Dilfer's points). I'm tempted to play Carr against the horrible Brown D. RB: Starting Davis and Morris Don't want to play Green, as he will likely take few, if any, snaps. WR: Starting Moulds, Williams and Mason I could flip Fitzgerald (against TB) in there in lieu of Mason, who is questionable. Thoughts? Thanks Hugh. I appreciate your insight. Happy New Year! Jedi_knights_2004
OK my team is the 1st team my opponent the 2nd team. I have him beat on paper I think. But Paper cant win the game alone. The BIG problem is that I have to many players that may not play at all or very little. Like Dillon, Harrison, & Burress. Standard Scoring with bonuses for 100 yards rushing and receiving. I need to start 1QB, 2 RB's, 3WR's, 1DEF, 1KICK........I have put a ** on the players Im thinking of starting and a # on the players i want to but dont know if they will play enough to get me the win. Please tell me what you think. QB **D Culpepper @ Skins A Brooks -dont matter C Peps my Guy this week. RB **J Jones @ Giants **J Lewis Vs Dolphins S Williams -Wouldnt even think about it L Johnson @ Chargers T Bell Vs Colts S Jackson Vs Jets #C Dillon Vs 49ers (Love this match up, BUT will he play?) WR **C Johnson @ Eagles #P Burress @ Bills (Dont think he will play much, Maybe not at all) **E Parker Vs Chiefs (Kinda Like this one) #M Harrison @ Broncos (Again will he even play?) J McCareins @ Rams **L Fitzgerald Vs Buc's DEF D Steelers @ Bills **D Dolphins @ Ravens K **R Lindell Vs Steelers (only Kicker I have) RB's are my biggest Nightmare Hear what they face this week. J.Jones -Giants 115 Rush yards (Cowboys have nothing to loss, I like that part) L.Johnson -Chargers Allow 75 Rush yards (Tough run DEF) C.Dillon -49rs 112 Allow Rush yards (To risky) L.Lewis -Dolphins Allow 133 Rush yards (Thats alot of yards) S.Jackson -Jets Allow 92 Rush yards (Rams have to win) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dont know his match ups but then that dont matter. broncosn05
Owner of Shawn Alexander here. Now I'll will start this out by saying that I need to have my lineup in before any of the Sunday games start. Now Seahawks should be in a good position though since the Rams are playing the Jets who themselves are fighting for playoff contension themselves. So I am asking you to put this into actual consideration for a while before answering. Now for some stats that I have researched to day in pretty much random order but this question has just been bugging me all week. Thomas Jones, Bears vs. Packers Last two games against the Packers, Thomas has piled up 268 yards and two touchdowns The Pack are locked in as the 3rd seed in the NFC playoffs, which means they have nothing to play for in week 17 The Bears think of the Packers their top rivals, which makes this game Chicago's version of the Super Bowl Now I will not be watching this game anyway because really no point but if you're a Seahawk/Bears fan can I have some thoughts. Thanks

The other thing here is that the other owner also has a couple of guys that will be limited (LT and Driver) with really no backups. Does that affect my play, as maybe I go a more conservative route? Just curious on your thoughts. RB (pick 1 of these to start - I also will be starting Dom Davis) Droughns vs Indy Bell vs Indy Bennett vs Redskins WR (pick 3 from this group) Roy WIlliams vs Titans A Boldin vs Bucs Galloway vs Cardinals Clayton vs Cardinals
