DMD
Which player will announce their retirement first? None have said they are going to retire in the off-season but all are subject to rumors and speculation.
jgcoach
I think Gannon is the most likely to go of all.
darin3
I think Gannon is the most likely to go of all. 663846 Agreed. His injury isn't anything to mess around with (read: paralysis).
Egret
Gannon. The other four have a shot at playing next year.
rocknrobn26
Rice!!!! The man is shot!
Wolverines Fan
Probably Gannon. That neck injury thing is obviously very serious. Wasn't there a Pats QB...Grogan, I think...who retired because of neck injury issues?
Puddy
Gannon. I would have said Emmitt but he's afraid Barry's waiting for him to retire to come back and play five years to steal the record
skylive5
Gotta be Gannon. Smith, Rice, and Favre will never retire. You'll have to drag them away and they will be kicking and scratching all the while.
CSEstreet
Rice is done!!!!
Swampnuts
Gannon is done, you just don't mess around with an injury like that. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Favre before Emmitt. I don't see the fire in Brett's eyes to go back out prove the critics wrong.
Retrograde assault
Gannons gone cause he needs a new neck and their hard to come by.
Chargerz
It's gotta be Gannon. If he's smart, he'll walk away. Being in the NFL limelight isn't worth paralysis! Edited January 21, 2005 by Chargerz
Grits and Shins
Like most of the rest I believe Mr. Gannon will come to his senses and realize that it his health that is at serious risk.
Big John
Steve McNair?
Ursa Majoris
Could have widened the poll to include: Eddie George Marshall Faulk Tim Brown - did he already quit?
Chavez
Steve McNair? 663972 Not a bad write-in. I don't see Favre hanging it up this year. Next year, maybe.
muck
Priest Holmes could have been a write-in as well... That said, I voted for SDavis...for no particular reason...
jgcoach
Steve McNair? 663972 He is also a good pick, if he was a choice.
Wolverines Fan
Steve McNair? 663972 Good suggestion. It could happen. I read somewhere that the Titans are having salary cap trouble and some players like Mason could be released. If the team loses some good players, I wonder if McNair will stay around. T_bone65
I would have to say Gannon for sure, after that neck injury he would be crazy to try and come back and play again.
Piranha
Gannon Rice Smith Favre McNair Davis In that order
Bill Swerski
Gannon and Eddie George are toast. Davis may have some gas left, but will have to take a HUGE paycut. Favre and McNair are still capable. Surprisingly, both Emmitt and Rice are still effective (Jerry as a slot receiver, that is). They'll both play until their knees turn to Jell-O. JoJoTheWebToedBoy
What a bunch of Geezers. Gannon McNair George Davis Farve Smith and Rice will never call it quits. They will have to be fired.
Todd1
All of them should retire except Davis and Favre. Favre is the only one still on top of his game and with a better defense, he could win a Super Bowl easily. IF (big IF), Davis' knee is 100% again, he could still be a good back. I think Faulk is done too, his knees are shot. Sad to see him go, I think other than Barry Sanders, he's the most electrifying RB I've ever had the pleasure of watching. I remember a college game where he did a cartwheel to avoid hitting the ground and continued running. Amazing!
