Pro Bowl

I feel confident that this is covered every year about this time but...

Anyone watch it?

Look forward to it?

Enjoy it?

I used to like the Pro Bowl when I was more of a 49er homer fan and could look out for "my" players wearing those classic gold and red helmets.

Now that I'm a FFL ho, it doesn't hold much interest.

What is this pro bowl you speak of?

The only thing that bothers me about the Pro Bowl are the restrictions on defense - like a ban on blitzing, which lessen the danger to life and limb but also diminish its resemblance to a real game. Given the outsized risk of injury in any football game, it's not surprising that players participating in a meaningless exhibition rarely display their normally unquenchable ferocity. Blowing out a knee in a playoff game is tragedy. Doing so in a Pro Bowl is farce.

The Robert Edwards type of injury scares most players and fans. No one wants to see a guys life change over a meaningless game.
