skinpig
I haven't seen or heard this mentioned much. When Brady dropped the ball and then fell on it, wasn't he then downed by contact? The Eagle player (?) fell on him and rolled him over to one side and the ball came loose. Shouldn't the play have been blown dead as soon as Brady was touched on the ground with the ball under him? They didn't show many replays and the red flag stayed in Belichick's pocket, so maybe the ball was never covered by Brady? That play was huge, because it turned a rout (read: cover spread) into a close game. Any insights on the play?
Vet
He never fully regained possession of the ball.
Czarina
I sort of thought so too, but since the Philly guy came out of the pile with the ball
Hugh-mongus
As Vet said, it looked on the replay that he never really had possession of the ball when he "fell on it".
skinpig
He never fully regained possession of the ball. 688407 Isn't covering the ball on the ground possession? Or he just didn't cover it long enough?
I Like Soup
Isn't covering the ball on the ground possession? Or he just didn't cover it long enough? 688420 I think that is the point....he never covered the ball up. Or rather,....it didn't look like he did to me on the replays. Vet
Isn't covering the ball on the ground possession? Or he just didn't cover it long enough? 688420 The ball was still bouncing around - he never really recovered it. It was pretty clear, which is why no one is talking about it. AtomicCEO
Isn't covering the ball on the ground possession? Or he just didn't cover it long enough? 688420 He got an arm on it, but he was never able to pull it into his body.

Vet
Yeah....."f * * k." 688432 After reading the post here a couple of weeks ago about what really goes on at the bottom of those pig piles, I don't think I would have really jumped on top of the ball either! louisville lip
Pehaps it was the "reverse tuck" rule!

Whiskey Pimp
Pehaps it was the "reverse tuck" rule! 689186 Exactly, so now everyone can stop talking about it.
