Tampa Bay offensive assistant coach Kyle Shanahan was arrested early Sunday morning following an incident outside the Have a Nice Day Café on South Meridian Street.

According to a police report filed by IPD Officer Eric B. Simmons, Shanahan, the son of Denver coach Mike Shanahan, was observed at approximately 2:07 a.m. being escorted out of the bar where "he was loud, belligerent and causing a scene, drawing attention to himself."

Simmons noted he could smell alcohol on Shanahan's breath and that his eyes were "glassy and bloodshot . . . (Shanahan was) unsteady on level ground." When Simmons on several occasions was unable to get Shanahan to calm down, Shanahan was arrested for public intoxication.

The police report noted Shanahan was transported to the Arrestee Processing Center. Shanahan appeared in court later Sunday morning. Charges were not filed and he was released on a court order.

Another Bucs assistant coach, Raheem Morris, also was escorted out of the bar. However, he was not arrested.
