An other Ravens free agent signing. I have to figure we are almost done in the free agent market after Mason, Rolle and now Vincent.

I had 4 big wants for the Ravens and they've filled the first three in order. We can get a few defensive lineman in the draft now. This is the best offseason we've had since signing Shannon Sharpe and Trent Dilfer (wow, not a very high bar).

Continuing the most frenetic offseason pace in the team's 10-year history, the Ravens agreed in principle on a three- year contract Thursday night with right guard Keydrick Vincent, the third starter acquired in the first 10 days of free agency.

The deal with the four-year veteran from the Pittsburgh Steelers is worth $4.64 million and includes a $1.25 million signing bonus, a considerable bargain in this year's market.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said the agreement is pending Vincent passing a physical, which team officials were working to set up for Friday.

The Ravens had targeted Rick DeMulling, but a league source said he priced himself out of the team's range Thursday. Another viable option, Roberto Garza, failed a physical with the Ravens on Wednesday.

Wasting little time - which has become the mantra of the Ravens this offseason - they moved quickly on Vincent, who was widely considered the best remaining guard available behind DeMulling.

"I'm excited because it was a long time coming and I'm just happy to be staying in the AFC North," Vincent said from his home in Lakeland, Fla. "The Ravens play very physical football, and that's what I'm all about."

At 6 feet 5, 325 pounds, Vincent replaced the injured Kendall Simmons all season - his first as a full-time starter - for a Steelers attack that gained the second-most rushing yards in the NFL last season. But with Simmons expected to return, Pittsburgh didn't have enough cap room to keep Vincent.

Though known as a run blocker, he provides more athleticism in pass protection than the 345-pound Bennie Anderson, an unrestricted free agent who started the past four seasons at right guard for the Ravens.

Vincent, who turns 27 next month, made the Steelers as an undrafted rookie in 2001 and started 28 games in four seasons. Last year, according to Stats Inc., he was called for just two penalties and allowed just a half sack.

His contract was less than other second-tier guards signed this offseason such as Joe Andruzzi (four years, $8.75 million with $2 million signing bonus) and Ben Hamilton (five years, $16.25 million with $3.5 million bonus) and was slightly more expensive than Cosey Coleman (two years, $3 million with $500,000 bonus).

"It's a good fit in Baltimore," said Ken Zuckerman, Vincent's agent. "It gives him a chance to play for a contender and a team that suits his style, which is running it up in there."

By reaching terms with Vincent, the Ravens have addressed their three biggest needs this offseason. They added receiver Derrick Mason last week and signed cornerback Samari Rolle on Monday.

The Ravens are scheduled to bring in guard-tackle Cooper Carlisle for a visit Friday. A free agent from the Denver Broncos, he started the final five games at guard last season.

If signed, he could serve as a versatile backup or press Vincent and right tackle Orlando Brown for playing time.
