DMD
Nope, not unless we allowed html which was proven to be a very, very bad idea in the past. Quote Link to comment

AtomicCEO
Your best bet is to use the "code" tags, and make all the spaces right. Atomic 15 Pie I will destroy youDMD 23 BBQ Get back to workSkins 12 Fritos Yer Vile...Hugh One 30 Turd I'm a big smelly dork It's that easy! Just set it up in a text editor or word processor with a fixed width font like Courier, then copy and paste it in, preceded by the CODE tag, and end with a /CODE tag. (all tags must be surrounded by brackets, but if I added them, you wouldn't be able to see them). Edited April 7, 2005 by AtomicCEO Quote Link to comment
DMD
how so a bad idea? 769821 Let's see... 1. Allowing html tags allows you to post pictures. While that sounds all great and fun it usually takes no more than 48 hours for "inappropriate" to be passed. Within 72 hours we are into territory that historically has resulted in vast plagues and the destruction of major cities. 2. Allowing html tags that are not properly written can make the thread not display correctly (if at all). 3. Allowing html tags that are not correctly written can actually corrupt a thread so that it requires us to manually go in and delete it. 4. Just very bad things... trust me - been there, done that. Check out his work. He HAS to be exporting that from Excel somehow. I don't know how he does it. ts does the same thing for a contest he runs. I bet if you pm'd one of those guys, they could let you in on the secret. Then, post it here for us... Quote Link to comment
Grits and Shins
Do you know if it works the same way w/ .xls in addition to .doc files/data? 993249 I do it from excel all the time .... but I used the CONCATENATE function to make all the columns the same length. smithkt
Just wanted to bump this up and add another option for excel users. I tried this and it worked pretty well for me. 1) Change the font you are using in Excel to a fixed width font like Courier New 2) Arrange your columns the way you want them to look 3) Save as a Formatted Text (space delimited) *.prn file 4) Open the saved file in notepad 5) Copy 6) Paste 7) Enclose in a code tag Example: Overall Round Pick Current Owner Original Owner 1 1 1 Tyler Twisters Bellmore Bums 2 1 2 Memphis Elite Tyler Twisters 3 1 3 Memphis Elite suck my vick 4 1 4 Holliday's HuckleBerries Holliday's HuckleBerries 5 1 5 Piranhas Stampeed Piranhas Stampeed 6 1 6 Tyler Twisters Corona Crew 7 1 7 Aussie War Pigs Aussie War Pigs 8 1 8 Memphis Elite Frozen Tundra 9 1 9 Glendale Gila Monsters Glendale Gila Monsters 10 1 10 San Antonio Rattlers San Antonio Rattlers 11 1 11 Bellmore Bums Memphis Elite 12 1 12 Memphis Elite Houston Hot Peppers Not really sure why there is a slight shift in the fourth column, but it's a hell of a lot easier than trying to line stuff up manually. AtomicCEO
Another thing I learned is that when exporting from OpenOffice (a free alternative to Microsoft Office)... I can take any spreadsheet (xls or sxc) and... File, "Save As..." Save as Type, "Text CSV (.csv, .txt)", give it a name, and click "Save" Then check the "Fixed Column Width" checkbox, and click Ok. It gives me a perfectly spaced text file that I can copy into the code tags. I'm sure Excel has a similar option, but I hate paying for software. Quote Link to comment
