Jumpin Johnies
We use performance scoring with two tweaks, qb td passes count as 4 points and qb passing yardage is 10 yards=1 point. Should I give up Priest for Peyton?

darin3
Do you have LJ as well? What could you get, if you have LJ, for both LJ and Priest? Perhaps you just keep LJ. Manning, in a league with 10:1 passing points, even with 4 pts./TD, will destroy all other QBs stats. Who are your other RBs? I'd do that deal. Give him the insurance he needs to make Priest worth it. Or ask for something else... WR? Peyton, JJ and Deuce is a sweet top-3... with Bell as a backup. Deals like this don't come around much. I'd take Peyton and continue keeping him...

This guy has Manning and LT2, I would be paying him $25 for the trade. 872984[/snapback] So this has nothing to do with trading Priest for Manning because the other guy won't even keep Priest. This is basically about dropping Priest and paying another owner $25 for Manning. By the way, forget about that 10yds=1pt rule making Peyton more valuable. What set him apart last year was TDs and if they're 4 pts it's not that big a gap. He was 3rd in the league last year in passing yards. He's thrown for 4,000+ yds each of the last three seasons and last year was the first time he was the #1 FF QB, and that's in 6pt/TD leagues. Wally
Make this trade. As much as I love Holmes, his injury history makes him a risk. Manning has never missed a start. It's better to have a player for 17 weeks that 7.
T-Scorp
No way I pay someone $25 cash for a player. Do you get a refund if he gets injured??? Keep Duece if your worried about Priest's health. Depending on your draft pick you may still get Manning. If not there could still be a lot a good QB's out there. The fact that you get a "bonus" for passing yards means QB's like Culpepper, Green, and Collins could be right up there with Manning. Unless this is a BIG $$ league I say $25 is too much!!!! BS Miscreant
I think this one comes down to plain ole personal preference. They both have the potential to be hugh but I wouldn't draft either of them in the first round of a draft. I don't trust Priest to stay healthy and he has limited keeper value. Manning is coming off what was arguably the best year a QB ever had and he's bound to come back to earth. He may end up being the #1 QB in FF but I don't foresee the giant gap that others are expecting. I guess if I were pressed to pick between the two and knew that I'd get a very good RB with my 1st pick then I'd go Manning. If I could wait until the draft order was determined and knew I had 1.01 then I'd obviously keep Priest and take Manning in the draft. All that said, having to choose between Priest and Manning as a first rounder or keeper is my worst nightmare. I will probably get shelled for this but with your roster, I wouldn't even be considering this trade because I'd be keeping Deuce and trying trade Priest and maybe JJ for picks. westvirginia
I would lean toward yes, but like T-scorp, I wonder about the $25 cash. Is this a league with a $500 payout or better for first place? Something else to consider though, is that you're essentially giving your first rounder for Manning. Now, if you knew your draft slot, and were going to pick first-fourth, then you're probably OK. But do you want to throw Deuce out (or lose $25 if you change your mind) if you end up with the 10th or 12th pick? You might be strapped for RB talent, depending on your league. The highest scoring player is tempting, but I'd want a little more certainty before I did this deal (unless you can talk him out of the cash). T-Scorp
JJ, Just did some stats using your scoring system and 2004 results Culpepper....42.4 pts per game Manning.......40.8 pts per game Green..........35.5 pts per game McNabb........34.4 pts per game Plummer......33.9 pts per game Favre...........33.1 pts per game Bulger..........36.1 pts per game (only played 14 games) As BS stated earlier Manning was third in yards passing last year and his TD's him a majority of his points over other QB's. As I stated earlier and BS seconded, I'd keep Duece and hope to draft another QB. You listed 3 teams keepers...how many teams in the league? Clubfoothead
Very tough. I'd lean towards keeping McAllister, maybe. When will you know your draft spot because I'd hate to even try and answer this one until yer slot is known.
Haskel
Looking at the stats T-Scorp calculated, t's an easy decision: forget the trade, keep an RB Edited July 11, 2005 by Haskel
MrGameTime
I'd do the Trade and I wouldn't look back! With the RB class this year being what it is I think you will have little problem find players to fit nice with a QB that would kill your scoring system! Perchoutofwater
I like the trade, but I hate the money aspect of it. First, what is the entry fee, and 2nd does the money go in the guys pocket or does it go to the cash pool?
