Chessmaster
Hypothetical. You own Reggie Wayne. You have the opportunity to trade him for the following: 2006 2nd, 2007 1st, 2007 2nd, 2008 1st, 2008 2nd This is a dynasty league, so the above picks are in a rookie draft. 12-team league, no IDP, so by the time the third round comes around, most of the players taken are longshots. Do you do it??
AoNrDaYnAge
How bad is the team you're trading with? If he's a pretty bad team I'd do it, otherwise I would ask for a decent WR that's playing now along with those picks.
AoNrDaYnAge
Now go look at my trade question!
Chessmaster
Well, I would be replacing Reggie Wayne with Santana Moss in my starting lineup, so I'd like to think I have a capable replacement on my roster presently.
AoNrDaYnAge
Yeah, I think Santana will do pretty well so I say go ahead with the trade as long as the team you're getting the picks from isn't on of the best teams in the league. With some of those first rounders you should be able to get some good rookie Rbs and WRs in the years to come and you don't take a GIGANTIC hit from Wayne to MOss although it's substantial I think the picks are more than worth it. The Darkside
first off there is a big difference between s.moss and r.wayne, the least of which is that one has patrick ramsey throwing at him and the other has that manning guy who just had one of the greatest seasons ever. the second difference is that last year wayne had 372 more recieving and 7 more tds than moss ( at 1 pt per 10 rec and 6 per td as per my league ) thats 79 more points. i do agree that the picks are worth it but only if you can acquire another soild wr so you do not have to rely on s.moss, or unless your team is good enough that you can compete and be happy with what ever points moss can occasionaly contribute. Either way, I'd be very tempted to jump on this. That is an awful lot of talent for one player who isn't even the best at his postion. I'd do it. Chessmaster
or unless your team is bad enough that this year doesn't matter. 889346[/snapback] Well, my team is a borderline contender, but I like to bite the bullet and go for draft picks unless I am a clearly dominant. I think I'll do it.
