I know this gets beat to death but...Is the Det roster as loaded with potential as it looks Roy Williams, Mike Williams, Charles Rogers, Kevin Johnson at WR picked up Pollard at TE, Kevin Jones with Jamel White 3rd down back.

And Joey "Make it or Break it Year" Harrington... he cost me last year.

Is this the year for him or does Mooch's pal from SF Garcia get to drive this Offense? I know we have some kitty fans around here! What is your opinion? and which is more covetted in the draft? :D

Harrington certainly has a lot of pressure on him. I don't know if he can do it. Garcia may be taking his spot mid-season... or maybe Harrington pulls a Brees. Who knows?

I kinda hope Harrington blows it... but only because my wife thinks he's cute.

R Williams showed last year he very well might be the real deal; Johnson and Pollard have been productive in the past, but are both clearly on the downside. Williams is a rookie - I think he'll be good, but you don't know until they buckle the helmets, and Rogers has to prove he can stay healthy. So IF M Williams delivers as expected and Rogers stays healthy, yeah, they look good at the receiver position - however, that's a small if and what appears to be a pretty big one.

Kevin Jones with Jamel White 3rd down back.

Nice backfield depth; ideally, you'd like a third guy in the mix, but White has proven he can start for short stretches should anything happen to Jones.

I think it's Harrington's job to lose right now, but the key is how does he respond knowing that a capable and proven guy is sitting behind him? Despite all the love for McMahon, he was too limited as a QB to be any real threat to Harrington. Is this the year that Joey H makes the big jump? He HAS improved his key #s (comp pct, tds, int pct) all three years; personally, I don't think he has the temperament to be "the man." And given that his rec corps is one reasonably sure thing, two oldsters, and two question marks, I'd probably let others take the risk with the Det passing game. K Jones right now looks to be about a 3rd tier back to me - Mooch's backs always have nice yardage totals but seem to struggle to hit double digit tds.

I believe that Little Joey has about 4 games to prove he can do the job before he finds himself on the bench staring down a quick exit from the NFL.

That said, I believe this is the year it all comes together for him. You should be able to pick him up very late, in fact, it wouldn't suprise me if Garcia goes before in in a lot of drafts this year.

Whats the offensive line like? That is usually the foundation of a good offense. I have heard all year long on how good they are, but have heard nothing about the offensive line.

The Lions signed Demulling in the offseason to help shore up the OLine. Combined with Jeff Backus, Dominick Raiola and Damien Woody it looks like an adequate line. The big question mark is right tackle. They've slotted Kelly Butler as the starter and he did not play a down last year. He's big and supposedly has a mean streak. Not a lot of depth on the line but not many teams do.

Actually they have two decent options as the third back. Shawn Bryson and Artose Pinner. Not stars but capable runners in their own right (and Bryson has excellent receiving skills).

With all those weapons on offense, Joey is never going to be told to not lose a game like Roethlisberger is. Joey will always need to shove the ball downfield to stay in the games. If he can't than Garcia will get his chance. Will it take a 1-3 or 0-4 start for that to happen? Probably not.

My money's on Garcia. Too many weapons on offense and if he can't push the buttons then Garcia can and will. IMO, he's got more gas in his tank....and will explode the next time T.O. runs hs mouth about Mooch and Garcia together again!

I think the key to Joey keeping the starting gig (assuming Garcia doesn't flat out beat him out in preseason), is winning the first two games. They have Green Bay at Ford Field, followed up by a game in Soldier Field. Those are two games ripe for a good game by Harrington. If he struggles in those two, he will probably be toast no later than after the 5th game. The next three opponents have considerably better defenses - Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay. Chances are much better he struggles in those games meaning Garcia would be in by game 6.
