  1. Thanks. If I guy like Hillis was available, I'd definitely pick him up. Just curious, what do you think'll think the outlook is for Moeaki vs Zach Miller the rest of the way? His schedule looks great and he'd be done with his byes. I'm considering dropping Miller for him.
  2. I'm in a 12-team PPR league. We also get performance bonuses. QB touchdowns are 6 points. Here's my dilemma. Many of my best players are either on bye or injured and unlikely to play or at least do much. Here's my lineup and my opponent's. Should I just throw this game by dropping Sanchez who I picked up off waivers earlier in the week so that I can pick up a player for future upside? I'm thinking about picking up BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Jabar Gaffney or Tony Meoaki (even though he has a bye I'm worried someone else will grab him off waivers next week). By the way, my record is 3-0 right now. My team: Sanchez Arian Foster Shonn Greene Malcom Floyd Johnny Knox Demarius Thomas Zach Miller (Oak) Nick Folk Eagles DST Bench: Romo, M. Austin, A. Johnson, J. Best My opponent: Kyle Orton Darren McFadden Chris Johnson Larry Fitzgerald Chad Ochocinco Vernon Davis Clinton Portis Jeff Reed Ravens Bench: Favre, Fred Taylor, Dez Bryant, Todd Heap Thanks for all the advice I've gotten so far folks!
  3. This looks like a great trade for you and I would definitely do it if the other guy accepts it. The other guy accepting it will be the hard part because the offer might be a week late. Shiancoe was injured and the severity is uncertain, but was hot before this weekend. Foster had a solid game and Wallace had a great game and he'll probably stay solid since Roethlisberger is coming back soon. If the other guy doesn't accept it, maybe reach out to whoever owns Best? He might be willing to trade him given the uncertainty with his toe injury and has a lot of upside when he's healthy again.
  4. Byes are starting next week so I'll be without a QB in a QB-heavy scoring league. Benches in my league are pretty short. Should I drop someone on my bench (Greene or Spiller?) to pick up someone from the waiver wire or just take a loss so I can keep players with upside? I'm 3-0 right now. Sanchez is the best pick off waivers and he's playing great, but I'm not sold that he'll be consistent although he is playing the Bills next week. I'm last on waivers too. Henne, Freeman and Bradford are also available. My starters (QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, Flex, K, DST): QB: T Romo RB: A. Foster, J. Best WR: A. Johnson, M. Floyd Flex: J. Knox K: N. Folk DST: Eagles Bench: Dem. Thomas, M. Austin (Bye), S.Greene, CJ Spiller. It's a 1 point PPR league. QB touchdowns are 6 points, 1 point for 20 yards, with a 5 point bonus for 300 yards. By the way, I've got a lot of players on week 7 byes (Foster, Best, Greene, A. Johnson, J Knox, N. Folk) so I'm already planning to take a loss that week.
  5. Thanks for all the responses so far. Just curious, how do you evaluate fair value when you're trading multiple players for one stud? I was obviously wrong about the Gaffney for Beanie trade, but would M. Floyd and Gaffney for Beanie be fair for both teams?
  6. Thanks, I appreciate all the responses. It's interesting to hear about all the variables that you consider.
  7. This all makes sense. Out of curiousity, I just ran the numbers on 2009 in my league and found that after RB6 vs WR6, WRs outscored RBs. Could it be we're leaving points on the table looking for consistency? This is only applying to PPR leagues, of course.
  8. I'm in a 1 point PPR league, TD = 6, 1 point every 10 yards. I know a lot depends on your actual team, the matchups, the momentum of individual players, etc. But just wondering, if you had to choose between an average RB3 and WR3, who would you lean toward starting?
  9. A couple of days ago I asked for advice on a trade (Gaffney or M. Floyd for Beanie) that I thought was equal because projected points on my league's site were about equal. But the consensus was that it definitely wasn't. (Thanks for your advice guys!) I obviously stink at evaluating trades. What kind of things do you all consider when evaluating a trade? Also, I'm sure there is an art to how you craft your message when you propose a trade. Any tips?
  10. Thanks for all your comments folks. I didn't realize the trade was so one-sided. I'm definitely poor at evaluating trades, and I guess that's why I didn't have the confidence to pull the trigger in the first place.
  11. Projections that I've seen are similar -- they're all in the 150-175 points range. And I think this is a good time to buy-low on Beanie, given the knee. Is it really that one-sided?
  12. I'm in a 12 team PPR league, 1 point each 10 yards running or receiving too. I'm considering sending this trade to another manager, but I'm not confident pulling the trigger. Please let me know what you think of it. I give up: Jabar Gaffney or Malcolm Floyd I get: Beanie Wells Here's my current team: start: QB x 1, RB x 2, WR x 2, RB/WR/TE x 1, K, DEF QB: T. Romo RB: A. Foster, J. Best, CJ Spiller, F. Jackson, S. Slaton WR: A Johnson, M. Austin, J. Gaffney, M. Floyd TE: Z. Miller K: N. Folk DST: Eagles
  13. Thanks for the response. Kuhn is an option thanks for bringing him to my attention. Someone already took Dez in the draft, so he never made it to waivers.
  14. Hello Folks. I'm thin at running back but there aren't any decent ones on my waiver wire. I'm wondering, are there any likely waiver wire receivers you would take a shot on to see if they have a great game or two and try to trade for a running back? By the way, I'm in a 1-point PPR league.
  15. Thank you all for all the comments and advice. Great points by all. I just realized that I have 5! players on the same bye (Ryan, Kolb, Boldin, Derrick Mason, Giants DST). I didn't even plan it, but now see the value. I'm going to just take the loss and hold on to both QBs and stay strong every other week.
