  1. Just got offered Allen Robinson for Jeremy Hill. Robinson would slide into my flex spot that Hill vacated. Half point PPR. Other rb/WR are David Johnson, Melvin Gordon, Todd Gurley, Amari Cooper, Demaryius Thomas, Davante Adams, Corey Coleman, Djax. Would leave me a but thin at RB (also have unknowns of AP, Starks, Rawls) Should I accept? I'm 7-1 and cruising. My QBs are Ryan and Brees. Also got offered by someone else Hopkins for Ryan. I wouldn't take both deals. I'm leaning AROb deal. Smart?
  2. Thanks guys. You're probably right ... and I'm not usually a go-big-on-QB kind of guy. Just looking for a nail-in-the-coffin approach. Starting from scratch, I'm with you ... I wouldn't likely target Gurley or Johnson due to cost. But they're just great values to keep. I could have also kept Bell for $45, but again, value .. I figure I can draft him on the cheap with the suspension (for $40-45 v. $55-60 if no suspension). DeMarco is also cheap ($12) right now as is Melvin Gordon ($4) so those are my upside, low-cost backup options ... to pair with Bell. If I go Carr/Cousins at QB, as was my original strategy, it leaves a lot of $$ open to target WRs. But in my league, all the top options are being kept ... I think the best available WRs are AJ Green, Dez Bryant, Brandon Marshall and Jordy. Romo makes me nervous about Dez, but I'd be open to targeting AJ or Jordy. I just have a lot more "love" guys as breakout cheap WRs than RBs which is what made me lean toward de-emphasizing getting studs up top. But you're right, WRs are drivers, and my Rb situation is stout. I do like Woodhead, I just have a strong sense that Murray and Gordon are gonna break out / re-break out this year and I don't have room to stash a Woodhead at the back of my roster if they're my RB4 and RB5
  3. I'm currently leaning toward targeting: RB: Le'Veon Bell, DeMarco Murray, Melvin Gordon WR: Donte Moncrief, John Brown, Kevin White TE: Coby Fleener, Dwayne Allen The kicker is going to come down to who I target as my WR1 and WR2 and QB1. The more I spend on QB, the less I spend at WR. I could get Rodgers, but my WR1 and WR2 would likely be Doug Baldwin and Randall Cobb. If I target Andrew Luck, upgrade Baldwin to maybe Keenan Allen. If I target Brees or Brady, then we're talking about Allen and Watkins or Allen and Hilton
  4. Didn't get many responses on here so I'll just try to simplify my original post. I'm starting with David Johnson ($20) and Todd Gurley ($20) as keepers at RB. My remaining starting spots are QB, WR, WR, FL, FL, TE, K, DEF and 6 bench Do I double down on RBs or WRs and try to grab another 2 top tier guys to go with some high-upside low cost players? Or should I target some mid-level and upside guys and also go big at QB with a Rodgers, Luck or Brees (in order of likely cost). In reality, I could accomplish both. Brees should be around $15 ... Luck around $25 ... would still have plenty to spend on the likes of Bell, Lacy, Keenan Allen, Aj Green, Nelson, Watkins, etc. But from a 30,000 foot level, what's the right move? I've never gone heavy on a top QB and if there's a year to do it, I figure this is the one. 6 points for TDs for QBs too, so they do hold more value
  5. A site that I trust pretty well in the projections department has Eddie Lacy as the pre-season #6 RB. If that's the case, then keeping him for the 1st (or essentially a 4th) round pick is a good gamble.
  6. I don't know, Todd Gurley for life as a 6th rounder is pretty nice. But a it probably depends on what the talent level is in the 1st or 2nd round
  7. That's a tough one ... really depends on whether or not you're buying into Doug Martin's 2015 resurgence. What pick would you have in the "1st round" ... that may determine it for me. If you pick near the top, I wouldn't keep Lacy since you could possibly re-draft him with that pick and use a later pick to secure another player like Martin. Hilton for a 3rd is a good deal. Hilton + Beckham as your WR1 and WR2 to pair with Gurley as your RB1 is pretty stout. Then if you can draft Lacy in the 1st round you're set. In a similar set-up last year, I could have kept Le'Veon Bell for a 1st ... but instead I threw him back when I found out I'd have the 3rd pick (and Peterson, Brown and Julio were thrown back) ... and I was perfectly fine throwing Bell back and taking one of those 4 that fell to me ... while using a later round pick to keep (I think) Mark Ingram for a 7th. So instead of keeping Bell for a 1st and Demaryius Thomas for a 4th ... I kept Mark Ingram for a 7th, Thomas for a 4th ... and then got Bell with the 1st round pick. Now in hindsight Bell and Thomas sucked for me but I won the league thanks to Todd Gurley, Devonta Freeman and Mark Ingram ... but in theory, it was the right move.
  8. This is a case where it may all depend on your down the roster preferences. Do you have more late-round RB targets or WR targets? For me, I've found that my list of upside, low-cost WRs is much larger than my RBs ... so I'm leaning toward loading up on RBs up top and targeting the WRs later. That being said, it's very very hard to pass on Julio Jones, ever. Wouldn't fault you for going Jones and having Jones+Hopkins. Jones IMO is more reliable than Peterson.
  9. I don't see how you don't win with that roster. I hope you can start more than 2 WR! RB: bell, Elliot WR: Brown, Cooks, Robinson, Hilton Legit
  10. How were Allen Robinson and TY Hilton 11/12 rounders? After a kicker for that matter ... Something's missing here. Is this a 4 QB league or something? Your WRs are insane and Elliot / bell is very strong if they're not suspended for more than 4 games combined. Is this a money league? Can I join next year?! Hah
  11. Appreciate any advice on my question, and hope it can spur a bit of a debate on draft strategies. I'm in a high-stakes (college buddies mainly the reason for the high stakes, but also $150 buy in). I've finished 2nd, 1st, 2nd the last 3 years. It's a half point PPR, 6 point for QB TD, 10 team, QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, W/R, W/R/T, TE, D, K, 6 Bench. It's a $220 auction. Keeper rules ... can keep a player for their drafted cost the previous year rounded up to $20 for UDFA and players drafted for less than $20 and down to $45 for anyone expensive, and their drafted cost if anywhere in between $20 and $45. I'm keeping David Johnson for $20 and Todd Gurley for $20 (Over Le'Veon for $45 and Jordan Reed for $20). Would you rather have: A. Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, Le'Veon Bell (RB3), Ezekiel Elliot (RB4), Doug Baldwin (WR1), Randall Cobb (WR2), Donte Moncrief (WR3), John Brown (WR4), Kevin White (WR5) B. Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, Eddie Lacy (RB3), Melvin Gordon (RB4), Jordy Nelson (WR1), Keenan Allen (WR2), Donte Moncrief (WR3), John Brown (WR4), Kevin White (WR5) C. Aaron Rodgers, Le'Veon Bell (RB3), DeMarco Murray (RB4), Melvin Gordon (RB5), Keenan Allen (WR1), Randall Cobb (WR2), Donte Moncrief (WR3), John Brown (WR4), Kevin White (WR5) Starting with $180 in cap space and David Johnson and Todd Gurley as my RB1/2 allows me to be pretty aggressive ... Just don't know where to build my strategy. Obviously as the draft goes, I'll adjust, but I can't make up my mind haha.
