Noyam
I'm working on a deal to get a decent WR for Palmer (like Colston), and would want a good QB to replace him. I like Hasselbeck, and I'm down on Smith. The question is, is Smith worth the upgrade from Lynch to LJ. Is it even an upgrade? LJ/Hasselbeck for Smith/Lynch/Rivers Thanks. CarbonThief
LJ is a stud, but what you gain in RB power does not offset what you lose in WR. You RB's are serviceable and will do for now.
Noyam
But if I do this deal, I can trade Palmer for at least Colston, maybe a little more.....what's the realistic dropoff going forward from Smith to Colston? (Smith's got QB troubles all season, Colston and NO are looking primed to break back out). Basically, which is a better trio, together: Hasselbeck, LJ, Colston OR Palmer, Lynch, Smith? CarbonThief
If you can get the Colston owner to commit..then yes!
Noyam
Turns out the owner I was talking to about Palmer was also negotiating for Hasselbeck. I expanded the deal a little, and it got done. It went through as: LJ/Hasselbeck/DeAngelo Williams/Randle El for Steve Smith/Lynch/Rivers/Norwood Now I've got Hasselbeck and Palmer, who the other guy needs, and I can get Lee Evans or Marques Colston, at least, for one of them Edited November 1, 2007 by Noyam
