berate
Greetings, Need some help trying to figure out how to set the matchups for the playoffs. We have the top 6 teams entering the playoffs. First and Second have a first round bye, just not sure how to do the matchups leading up to the superbowl. I originally thought that round 1 should be 3 vs 6 (winner plays 1st seed in round 2), 4 vs 5 (winner plays 2nd seed in round 2). Then someone else in the league said it should be round 1 should be 4 vs 5 (winner plays 1st seed in round 2), 3 vs 6 (winner plays 2nd seed in round 2). Then thinking about it more, in the past we did 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5. Based on that I feel that it should be 5 vs 6 (winner plays 1st seed in round 2), 3 vs 4 (winner plays 2nd seed in round 2). Any suggestions on how we should do this? This is my first year as commish and want to do the right thing. Thanks! Edited November 25, 2008 by berate
RJV
Ok, 1st off how many divisions do you have?? How many teams in each division?? I'll assist you as how my league is set up. 2 divisions, with 5 teams in each. The winner of each division gets the 1st round bye. Then the next 2 teams in each respective division, teams #2and #3, play each other that week to determine the winner. The following week the winner of the wild card game, the #2 and #3 teams, play the bye week Team to determine the division winner. Then the following week is super bowl. If ties abound, then we go by the method: 1) divisional record, 2)total points. Edited November 25, 2008 by RJV
