BeeR
ie how does this turn a profit? This costs them a LOT of money right? You're telling me that isn't better spent on TV ads etc?

wirehairman
There name goes everywhere. On every printed piece, on every TV ad pushing the game, on the scoreboard. Don't forget the video games. Their logos and names are plastered everywhere in the bowl games there, too.
detlef
I hear you. Some, I suppose, make sense. You know, like chips and fast food. Things that you just mindlessly grab off the shelf. But when 3Comm sponsored Candlestick park, I thought, what the hell? First off, I have no idea what, exactly they do (or rather did). That tells me it is somewhat specific and specialized. Thus, something that whomever would purchase their product would think longer about than, "Oh, cool, that's where the Niners play."
