Great Day to be a Sports Fan in Dallas

Each of our 4 sports teams is currently involved in a headline on espn.com. I wonder how often that happens. Unfortunately none of the four headlines are good news.

First, you have the whole ARod mess. Apparently, the Rangers can't field a competitive team, but they can sure juice their players up. Along with ARod, you have: Pudge, Palmiero, Juan Gonzo, GMJ, Ken Caminiti, David Sugui, Chad Allen and Randy Vallarde.

Next up, there is the Stars. Sean Avery has been reinstated and is off to Hartford of the AHL. This will go down as the worst/most expensive failure in Stars history. Even though the NHL was dumb to get involved with the whole 'sloppy seconds' mess, Avery is an idiot and won't be welcomed back in Texas any time soon. Coincidentally, the Stars are owned by Tom Hicks, who also owns the Rangers. Maybe Avery was sharing the juice with the baseball players and the roid rage got the better of him.

Then you move on to the Boys. Another marvelous signing has gone down in flames. Pac Man is released after doing what for the team? Blowing a bunch of coverages and getting in a fight with his team employed body guard in a bar that he wasn't supposed to be at. Real classy.

The best headline unfortunately is news that Jason Terry just had surgery on his broken hand and will be out of the lineup for an undisclosed amount of time. The second best player going down for a team that was just hitting its stride is not good news.

Good thing Dallas doesn't have a curling team or else they would probably be in some sort of trouble also. At least we have news worthy sports teams. :D
