Trade possibility and Who to start?

My Roster in a standard scoring not PPR- but 6 for rush td and 3 for passing and receiving td good yardage points

 

QB- ROMO, Stafford RB- S jackson, R Rice, R Mendenhall, F Jones, WR- V Jackson, D Jackson, M Sim-Walker, K Walter

 

I am 4-2 in a 14 team league - we have two divisions. Top three in each div go to playoffs. League started in 1994.

 

I currently have the 11th pick on waivers.

With Rice on bye-- Mendenhall is playing Minn-- I was looking at getting maroney who is on waiver wire

or

with Sims-Walker on Bye and K Walter not so effective - I was looking at getting Sidney Rice off waivers

 

I spoke with the guy with #1 waiver pick and he is open to picking up Maroney and trading him to me for a 2010 5th round draft pick

or should I go with Mendenhall and Jackson and get S Rice.?

I most definitely would not trade any draft choices next year on the unproven Maroney.
