airupthere67
I know my RB's are awful, but if you could have seen the team I inherited, I think you'd be impressed with the position I'm in now. I am thinking about making a trade of all 4 2010 1sts plus either Bowe or Sims-Walker for Ray Rice, McGahee, and Marshall. What are your thoughts? Am I giving up way too much? What are some offers you all suggest then? Should I just wait for the rookie draft? Basic PPR scoring, bonus 5 points for every 100 yards rec/rush and 300 yards pass My team: QB: Cutler, J Young, V Russell, J Vick, M RB: Bradshaw, A Smith, K Morris, M Ware, D WR: Bowe, D Breaston, S Sims-Walker, M Schilens, C Massaquoi, M Heyward-Bey, D Floyd, M Bradley, M Johnson, Steve Edison, D Mitchell, M Jarrett, D TE: Davis, V Finely, J Scheffler, T K: Akers, D Gould, R DEF: Broncos Cardinals 2010 Rookie Draft Picks 1st (#2), 1st (#3-5), 1st (#3-5), 1st (#10-12) His Team: QB: Big Ben Sanchez Brandstater RB: Rice, R Westbrook, B Moreno, K McGahee, W McClain Buckhalter Taylor, F WR: Marshall Manningham Owens Avery Bess Collie Johnson, Bryant Robinson, Laurent Williamson, T Washington, Kelly TE: Pettigrew Heap Keller K: Carney Folk Hartley DEF: Bears Ravens 2010 Rookie Draft Picks: 4th round (#2)

jordanzs
I wouldn't trade that many 1st round picks. Next year's draft is supposed to be really deep, because of the pending rookie salary cap or something like that. You can get 5 studs out of that draft instead of the 2 that you're trading for (McGahee is garbage). What does your waiver wire look like? Is Bernard Scott available? Rashard Jennings? Brandon Tate? Try to get rid of guys who will never amount to anything, like Maurice Morris or Mark Bradley. Try to trade some of them for someone who has some upside to become a starter one day. In dynasty, Bowe is ranked pretty similar to Marshall. Some people say that MSW has that kind of potential. So if you assume that Bowe = Marshall = MSW, then you're basically trading 4 1st round picks for Rice. Rice is definitely a stud, that much we know. I'm stoked on owning him in 3 leagues. But chances are, if you have 4 1st round picks in a deep draft, then if you pick 4 running backs in the 1st round, at least one of them will be a stud. Most likely 2, possibly 3. airupthere67
Well, with teams being able to roster 25 players and each team having 3 additional players that can be kept on a taxi squad (if they're under 3 years in the league), the waiver wire is pretty much destroyed. Aren't those rookie picks truly gambles though?
futureeuqb
It would be nice to have Rice but that is just wayyyy to much to give up.
airupthere67
I've conceded that there's no way I give up Sims-Walker or Bowe to him. I figure Rice may be worth 3 picks. I mean he looks like he could be the next top fantasy RB for years to come. Even Cam Cameron is there as his OC.
futureeuqb
Research now who you think you would get with those 1st three picks and how good you 'think' they will be in the NFL and if their potential in your mind is still not as good as Rice then go for it but if not then just hang on to what you got. jordanzs
Rice for 3 first round picks isn't bad, I'd consider it. Will give you an anchor to build around. Can you keep your top 1st round pick? If so, you're looking decently solid. Maybe try to get a little more out of the trade, like 3 1st round picks + Vince Young for Rice & Sanchez. See if he'll bite. Then you'd be solid at QB, and your RBs will be good, as Rice, Smith, and Bradshaw have upside, and with your 1st pick you can either get Dez Bryant or a top RB. airupthere67
Yeah, I've offered 3 1sts for Rice, and he countered with 4 1sts/Bowe for Rice/Marshall. I think Bowe and Marshall are about equal so, I think he's telling me he wants 4 1sts for Rice. His team isn't even close to contending. I just can't see why he wouldn't want more picks to help him build.
jordanzs
One of the funnest things about fantasy football is the draft. Especially in a dynasty league, as you can watch the combines, the draft, etc, and enjoy it, knowing that 4 of the best players (hopefully) will land on your team. I say keep your 4 picks and enjoy the offseason!
airupthere67
I am definitely leaning toward that. I think it's gonna be a real solid draft class.
