moneymakers
Thanks for praying for my brother Randy has been in Haiti since Sunday on a medical mission team with Oklahoma Baptists. Here are some excerpts from text messages: Sunday: Made it to safe house. A lot of destruction. Yesterday team delivered 3 babies, lots of wounds, and or 2 stabbings. Keep praying Monday: Randy slept well last night. Bunk bed with mattress! Safe house surrounded by cinderblock wall and guarded 24 hours. Two other teams staying in same place. Traveled 8k to clinic near epicenter. Took 1 hour, in back of pick-up on wooden bench to get there. So many people everywhere with no place to go. Saw 135 in clinic today. Saw a lot of infections, intestinal problems, and anxiety. They don't have enough meds for those kind of problems. Pray that they will be able to find some from another team. Water well team made progress today. Hopefully will sink a well tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers. Tuesday: Team saw 170 patients today. A lot of the same ailments. They were able to get some needed meds from a tent city clinic but still don't have everything they need. I guess the needs change daily. He prayed with a lady who lost her husband and 3 children. Every patient has lost someone. The clinic is house in a church with three walls and partial roof. Took a bunch of pictures today. Wears a mask over his nose and mouth to and from clinic because of smell and stuff in the air. He said the devastation from the earthquake is very widespread. More than when he was in Indonesia after the tsunami. Even the people who didn't lose their homes are sleeping outside because they are so afraid of another quake while they are sleeping. He said their safe house is a big house with women's bunks downstairs and mens' upstairs. He took a show with a stream of water about the size of his pinky finger. He said it was cold but welcomed. For dinner he ate rice, instant potatoes, and oxtail, yes. oxtail. He said it wasn't bad. Thanks for your prayers!
