oaty
I'm in a 12 team keeper league. .5 PPR league. I have the following people to decide from. If I keep one player, I have to give up my first round pick. If I keep two, I have to give up 1st and 2nd round picks. Aaron Rodgers, Steven Jackson, Calvin Johnson, Shonn Greene I have the 3rd and 7th picks judging by who keeping players and the players available would be: Brees, Moss, Deangelo Williams, Ryan Matthews, Ryan Grant, Reggie Wayne, Benson I'm leaning towards keeping Rodgers but then not keeping anyone else and drafting best available with the 2nd round pick considering I would have the 6th pick of those above players plus who I would be dropping. 1) Should I keep Rodgers 2) Should I keep Rodgers and someone else 3) I'm leaning towards drafting Matthews instead of keeping Jackson, is this stupid? Thanks
delusions of grandeur
I had a good reply written out, but I don't understand these statements I have the 3rd and 7th picks judging by who keeping players and the players available would be: I'm leaning towards keeping Rodgers but then not keeping anyone else and drafting best available with the 2nd round pick considering I would have the 6th pick of those above players plus who I would be dropping. Thanks So what pick are you giving up to keep Rodgers? Third? If so, who would you expect to be available? If one of the top 6 backs or AJ aren't there, then keep him. Is it a 2.07 you'd be giving up to keep SJax? If so, then do you have confidence that you will land Matthews there, and would you settle for someone like Grant, or a top 5-10 potential WR like Calvin if not? It is a judgement call, but if you aren't confident that you'll land Matthews, then you might be better off just keeping SJax. Assuming I have this correct, then those are the questions you should be asking yourself when making this evaluation. oaty
Ok, here's the deal. I have the 9th pick and its a snake draft. It looks like 8 people are going to be keeping players and with those people keeping players, if I didn't keep anyone, I would end up with the 3rd pick in the first round. Also, with that information, I would come back into the second round and have a pick 4 spots later. So if I didn't keep anyone, I would have the 3rd and 7th pick from the players available. Make sense? I had a good reply written out, but I don't understand these statements So what pick are you giving up to keep Rodgers? Third? If so, who would you expect to be available? Hugh 0ne
Tough spot. I don't like drafting QB's in the first round, or give up my #3 overall pick for a QB, same concept. I would probably keep SJax and draft either DWII or Moss. That's a better start then DWII and Rodgers, or Rodgers and SJax.
oaty
Yea, that's another thought. No one is keeping a QB, so every QB will be available for drafting in the 3-5th rounds. I actually like Romo, Brady, etc in the 4th-5th rounds. I could always keep SJax and then draft either Matthews, Moss and DWilliams in the 2nd round. Tough spot. Make sense? Yes, but I actually still think it is a good reply . I'd take Rodgers behind the top 6 backs and AJ. I normally wouldn't do this with a QB, but guy is really looking like the real deal. According to your response, I'd assume he should be better than the best available at 1.03 (which is technically 1.11). SJax and Matthews kind of toss-up in a keeper, so it's dependent on your confidence level in drafting Matthews. Again, if you're not confident you can, I roll with SJax, and maybe even if so.. Both guys have risks, so it's a judgement call too.
oaty
The guys on XM radio fantasy said they would keep Rodgers and Calvin since its a PPR style league.
