teewhy237 Posted September 23, 2010 Share Posted September 23, 2010 In a ppr league, I got Forte for Smith(NYG). It's too late to ask for advice now, but I thought it was a no brainer. I have A. P. and Deangelo Williams as my starters (obviously Williams is killing me and all the rest of us). I have receiving depth to replace Smith with: Kevin Walter, Jacoby Jones, Mike Thomas(possibly this years Steve Smith). Forte appears that he will be a reception machine in Martz's offense and comparison's to old days of Marshall Faulk are all too enticing. I have no doubts that Smith will have his moments, but I am 0-2 and felt like I made a significant improvement. Not to mention if Williams comes around, I can always shop him for a comparable receiver if needed. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But Smith has underperformed and Forte has overperformed... which is probably what the other owner was thinking when he/she made that trade. I've already prepared myself for Smith's breakout week and Forte having a modest game. I think in the end it'll be all good. At worst, its a wash in my mind.
