atrpunk
Forte: Bad Rushing D: WAS, BUF, DET Avg Rushing D: MIA, PHI, NE, MIN (x2) Good Rushing D: NYJ + a BYE week. 3 of 10 weeks left, easy schedule. Forte should explode in these games. Carolina is allowing 3.8YPC and Forte busted out 22/166/2. With these numbers and factoring in the news that Forte's work-load will be increasing (Lovie Smith wants a more balanced Offense), Forte should handle the defenses of Miami, Philly and New England fairly easily. The question-marks for me lie in the Minnesota and New York Jets games. The Vikings have recently been a stout run defense and this year are averaging 3.8YPC and 102Yds/Gm. Based on that figure, Forte COULD have a decent game. Chicago defense has been on a tear and the MIN offense...no so much. These games are weeks down the road and who knows what could be happening with the MIN offense by then. I'm not worried. The JETS game on the other hand comes in the last week of most league playoffs. We'd all like to think we'll still be in it by then and hopefully you'll have other options when you re-evaluate Forte at that point. McGahee...good player, not enough touches to keep around unless Ray Rice goes down. He should have a good week against BUF and later on against TB based on run-defense strength and the fact that Rice will need a breather from running wild all day long. Other weeks are toss ups....not a SINGLE touch against NE??? Worrisome to say the least. Fitzgerald. Hate to give up on the guy, but just look at ARI. No defense, no QB, no WRs (except LFitz ATM)...even with Breaston and Doucet , you know LFitz will be double covered. Doesn't mean much at his skill level, but the ball has to come out of the QBs hand before he makes the spectacular catch. I would definitely trade Fitzgerald and McGahee for Forte.
