BeeR
Roxio came w/the PC. I just want to take some .AVI files and create a DVD. When I try with Roxio, it won't let me select them, even though at the bottom of the screen it shows .AVI files as an option of file types to grab. Googling didn't help, except that it seems I might have to get another program to convert to another format. I don't get if that is right, then why does Roxio appear to allow you to select AVIs as a file format option? I can grab .JPGs etc and put them in there, but not AVIs. I was able to burn AVIs straight to a DVD disc (so can view on PC or for storage), FWIW.
buddahj
I'm not a big fan of Roxio. Have you tried using Windows Media Player to try & burn your .avi files? If I were you, I'd use something else. I use Burn 4 Free & it works pretty good. Just don't install the toolbar. BeeR
Yeah, media player just burns the AVIs to the DVD as AVIs. No worky in the DVD player. PS sounds like the app above does the same. From the site: "Burn4Free CD & DVD lets you burn audio discs or write data to CDs and DVDs by dropping audio or data files into the main window." Nothing about creating DVDs ie to play movies or shows in the DVD player. Also don't ever bother trying "Quick Media Converter." The only quick thing about it is how it crashes. Every freakin time.
