Ever notice how Flash ads come blaring through your speakers, no matter how you change settings? Here's a fix which works. It does involve installing a third party utility, but again, it works.

1. Download and Install Privoxy.

2. Click on the button available in upper right corner of Chrome window with wrench icon on it.

3. Go to options > Under The Hood > under Network settings click Change proxy settings button.

4. In Internet Properties window choose “LAN settings”

5. Check proxy server LAN settings and in the address setting address: 127.0.0.1 and port: 8118 and check “Bypass proxy for local settings” option below.

6. Click “Ok” and then “Apply”.

7. Restart Google Chrome.
