BeeR
I admit it, not up on this. Do they have to be in some particular DVD format, or can DVD players read other formats, eg .AVIs, .MP3s, .MP4s etc? Is there a shareware/freeware software program anyone has used that works decently to burn em? This is not something I plan to do much of and not really up for spending much money on. buddahj
I use Burn4Free to create DVDs. I pretty much burn everything in .avi format. Most DVD players will play MP3s. I looked for ones that would play Divx so I wouldn't have a problem playing burned movies.
lennykravitz2004
Not sure if they're still out there, but I use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter.
BeeR
I'll check these out thx. I don't suppose I can just copy the (.AVI/MP3) files to a DVD disc?
lennykravitz2004
Wait... what are trying to do here? DVD movie? Or just DVD with data? If just data (music, other videos) basically as storage, then this is no different than writing to a CD except you get a ton more storage on a DVD. For example, if you're looking to add some video clips from Youtube, some songs (mp3's), then it really is no different than a CD. But you want to (ahem" "back up" a DVD movie, this will require something like one of the programs mentioned.
BeeR
A bunch of TV episodes we can watch on the DVD player. If I was just backing up, I could use some old CD-Rs I have lying around. OK, thx again -
