ryharts15
After my league's draft I'm feeling like my QB situation might be somewhat weak. Our league is 1QB 2RB 2WR 1Flex 1TE 1K 1DEF My lineup is as follows: QB:Kaepernick, Dalton RB: McCoy, Forte, Lamar Miller WR: Randall Cobb, Antonio Brown, T.Y. Hilton, Steve Johnson, Greg Little TE: Martellus Bennet, Brandon Pettigrew DEF: Rams K: Matt Prater Right now on the free agents list Alex Smith and Tannehill are both sitting there and a little part of me says I should pick one up either as a third QB so I can evaluate and trash one in the first few weeks, or just to replace one of the one's I already have. I am wondering if my thinking is correct and if so what is the correct swap to make, or if there is another position I should be concerned with. Thanks in advance for the help
whyme23
you look fine at QB to me its not a 2 QB league or anything. I prefer Dalton to anyone else you can pick up. I'd stand pat

Anthrax1
You needed more depth at RB especially since L. Miller isn't the clear starter - yet. Drop Dalton and pick up a possible sleeper RB (or maybe McFadden's backup). Pickup a QB as it gets closer to your bye. I also don't see a reason to have 2 TEs Edited August 21, 2013 by Anthrax1
bwebs13
yea your fine at QB, look for some more RB depth thou.
ryharts15
The top sleepers I can see in the Free Agent pool consist of Woodhead (with a new team could have a solid year), Helu (If he gets the third down role and can stay healthy), Daniel Thomas (Would get the job if Miller doesn't). Are any of those appealing enough to drop someone for? And I have two TE basically because I don't know which to stick with. Bennett is expected to have a good year but so is the whole Lions offense. So I have been torn in that situation.
bwebs13
No, look for a trade maybe. The best out of the ones you mentioned i believe is woodehad. is this a ppr league? that makes him more valuable.
ryharts15
Nah it isn't a ppr league, but I know someone in the league wanted pettigrew so I might be able to work out a trade for another RB, although from what I've seen I think Miller will be the dolphins starter, Thomas' history aint pretty Edited August 21, 2013 by ryharts15
Anthrax1
Altough the Dolphins coaching staff has said the starting RB job is 50/50 I just think this is a ruse to get Miller to perform better. I don't think they are really serious. Is Dwyer on the WW? Powell?
ryharts15
Johnathan Dwyer is on the Waiver wire, so is Isaac Redman, and I was offered a trade of either Hilton or Johnson for Bell. Are either of the three worth going for? There was also a tentative offer of miller for ronnie hillman, I'm not sure if they still want to given the uncertainty of miller but that still wouldn't give me much more depth
Anthrax1
Redman needs to stay on the wire. The trades offered suck sweaty balls. Dwyer (while not looking great) was the best RB on PITT that day. His stock went way up. Drop Dalton and pick him up (for now). If he gets the starting job your set. I think you have to keep Miller. Edit: Pick up Dwyer now, now now. Pitt thinks Bell has Lisfranc fracture. Edited August 21, 2013 by Anthrax1
Anthrax1
It looked like Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell had avoided a Lisfranc-type injury with his mid-foot sprain. But the rookie is getting a second opinion on his right foot today, and the Steelers think he will receive some awful news. According to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, the team believes Bell does have a Lisfranc injury. He adds that the Steelers are hoping Bell doesn't need surgery but "won't be sure until he gets it double checked."
ryharts15
Thank you, I picked up Dwyer but dropped Little. I'm not comfortable not having a decent backup QB and I still have 4 WR with this set up. Little won't do anything tremendous right away regardless so he'll stay free for awhile. Axe Elf
The only reason Dwyer excelled Monday night was that he was the last man standing after injuries to Bell and Redman. Redman is still listed as the co-starter with Bell, and will lead the RBBC in his absence. Not that that's saying much, as I doubt that Redman, Dwyer OR Stephens-Howling will carry much fantasy value individually, but still, it's not like everyone should pounce on Dwyer now--you'll just have the second man in a three-man rotation. Axe Elf
Axually, the best time to have Little IS right away, while Gordon is serving his two game suspension, and Little will debut the new Norv Turner offense at home vs. last year's #27 defense against the pass. If nothing else, his trade value should be pretty impressive after that game.
Chuckyone
Making rash fear based decisions in preseason is stupid imo. You have solid QB's I would not change. You do need more depth at RB, but in a league with only 5 bench players there should be a few on the FA/Waiver wire. However, your first two in McCoy and Forte should preform pretty consistently imo barring injury so you you could skate by to bye weeks. Guessing from your lineup it appears you had certain guys ranked higher than other managers and may have reached a bit, or you are in a 12 team league and drafted later. Just a guess tho I could be wrong. No way Smith or Tannehill are better than Kap or Dalton imo so I'd stay pat and play matchups each week in confidence. I think picking up Dwyer could be a waste of time. Depending on league size I'd consider not carrying two TE and picking one up as needed but that's just me. Neither of the TE you have inspire confidence.

And perhaps I will drop pettigrew for little if he really will do as well as people are claiming, perhaps that would give me some serious trade bait if need be.
