mitpdub
So, I've been watching the SF Defense get toasted regularly and painstakingly have not missed a play. I need a WR this week due to bye's and figured this would be a great time to pull the Giants slot WR out on my theory. If someone can confirm if S.Smith regularly is the inside WR for he Giants it would be appreciated. Here's the trend for those of you who can't bear to watch niner games: (I'm just highlighting the WR's who played the slot against the niners D) Ari 9/07 - S.Breaston 3-54, A.Boldin 8-82 (Boldin had no catches the 1st half, then moved inside the 2nd half and was money down the middle) Sea 9/14 - J.Carlson 6-78 (think he was the only healthy reciever/te....all over the middle) Det -9/21- they lost to the niners which means the coaches missed something here...think Rudi was the leading receiver NO 9/28 - L Moore 7-101 unopposed over the middle NE 10/05- W.Welker 8-73 Phi 10/12 - different strategy here with their wco. In summary, the Niners D can't stop any passes over the middle to a wideout. The opposing teams #1 usually is held to a less than stellar game by Clements, W. Harris does OK against the #2, but the slot WR seems to never get covered in the niners defense. I'm thinking that most good teams O coordinators have figured this out, but Nolan aka coach suite is clueless.
Timmypg
As a Giants fan I would say Smith will play the slot. However, Toomer goes across the middle a lot too.
