ESPN's John Clayton confirms that Clinton Portis (questionable, knee) is unlikely to play on Sunday Night Football.

Clayton says that even if Portis is active, he will not be a "key player" in the game. Clayton expects Ladell Betts and Shaun Alexander to share the workload against Dallas. Betts is the best bet for touches on all downs.

ESPN John Clayton - "tends to doubt" that Portis will play.

Denver will start rookie FB Peyton Hillis at tailback and he'll be replaced by recently re-signed Tatum Bell, who rushed for 1,025 yards two seasons ago for the Broncos.

FoxSports.com on Larry Johnson reports: With QB Tyler Thigpen starting the last three games, the Chiefs have gone to a spread offense as opposed to the tailback-oriented attack when Larry Johnson was featured. "Our offense has changed a little bit," Chiefs coach Herm Edwards said, "but (Johnson) is going to be involved in it.

Brandon Lloyd will be active.

Kyle Orton will start and the Packers should test his mobility immediately.

Chad Pennington was added to the Miami Dolphins' injury report because of a sore foot, and he's listed as probable for Sunday's game against Oakland. The Dolphins didn't elaborate on the injury Saturday or say or when it happened. Pennington ranks sixth in the NFL in passing and has led surprising Miami to a 5-4 record. If Pennington can't play, rookie Chad Henne would make his first NFL start. He was taken in the second round of the April draft. The Dolphins signed linebacker Rob Ninkovich off their practice squad and placed guard Matt McChesney on injured reserve.

FoxSports: The Raiders are saying that QB JaMarcus Russell, who skipped the Carolina game with a knee injury will play.

FoxSports: the Seahawks finally have QB Matt Hasselbeck and WR Deion Branch both back in the lineup.

The Cardinals expect to have their TEs ready including Ben Patrick, Leonard Pope and Jerame Tuman. That’s good news for rookie RB Tim Hightower.

Michael Turner took reps all week and is a go for this weekend.

Falcons K Jason Elam did some light work friday after sitting out both Wednesday and Thursday.

Ravens Terrance Copper is a scratch for week 11.

Derrick Mason did enough Friday to suggest he should be able to dress out this week. Still, to be safe, treat him as a game time call.

Daniel Wilcox was limited all week and is questionable for Sunday.

James Hardy took limited practice for the second consecutive day on Friday and remains questionable.

Josh Reed did not work this week. Look elsewhere.

Robert Royal took reps Wednesday, did not practice Thursday and was limited at practice Friday. Word is he has a good chance of playing but treat him as a game time call and plan accordingly.

Cedric Benson took reps Friday and should be fine for the game against Philly.

Andre Caldwell is not going to play this weekend against Philly. Same for WR Jerome Simpson.

Jamal Lewis (not injury related) missed practice Friday but they expect him to start as normal.

Steve Heiden is listed as questionable but he should be able to play this week.

Tony Romo took reps all week including Friday. He’s all set to return after missing three games with a finger problem.

Felix Jones is out again for week 11.

Jason Witten missed some practice reps this week but will start. He was fine on Friday.

Selvin Young did not practice all week and he’s not some to count on.

With Selvin Young doubtful, Torain and Pittman on IR, fullback Peyton Hillis is on track to start at RB this weekend for Denver. They could spell him with Tatum Bell, PJ Pope and Alex Haynes. If that happens, they might just stay with the hot hand. It’s a risky call here. Avoid this situation if you can!

Tony Scheffler is probable with a groin. He took reps all week without issue and that’s a great sign.

Dan Orlovsky is doubtful and is all but ruled out for week 11. The Lions will be down to Daunte Culpepper and Drew Stanton at QB this weekend.

Mike Furrey is officially listed as doubtful for Sunday's game. He’s not going to play.

Casey Fitzsimmons is probable for week 11. However, TE John Owens is iffy.

Aaron Rodgers had one of his better weeks of practice and he took full reps on Friday. He will start as normal.

Andre Davis is doubtful for week 11. Don’t count on much as his hand is still sore.

Anthony Gonzalez is listed as questionable but he took full reps Friday. He’s really closer to probable.

Reggie Wayne is officially listed as questionable for this week. To be safe, treat him as a game time call, but word is he’ll play. Even Coach Tony Dungy indicated Wayne will likely play on Sunday.

Tom Santi is very questionable for week 11.

Greg Jones remains questionable however he did get back to practice on Friday.

Fred Taylor should be available despite a minor neck injury. He did some work on Friday.

Surprisingly, the Jaguars officially listed starting WR Matt Jones as questionable and they did not test him at drills Friday. Coach Jack Del Rio had earlier indicated Jones could have played last week after hurting his leg. Treat Jones as a game time call.

Troy Williamson is out for week 11.

Jamaal Charles is probable and he took reps Friday.

Larry Johnson returns this week, but Jamaal Charles could still be active as Johnson is coming off a 4-week absence and he could be rusty.

Reggie Bush did not practice Friday and was ruled out for the week. Same with Saints FB Mike Karney. Aaron Stecker is expected to play.

Deuce McAllister is inline to start this weekend with Reggie Bush already ruled out for Sunday.

Marques Colston is probable and will play against KC.

Garrett Hartley is probable and will play against KC. He took part in drills again on Friday.

The Raiders expect to have QB JaMarcus Russell available for their game against the Dolphins this Sunday. Still, he’s not someone to count on as Raiders backup QB Andrew Walter (ankle) remains in the mix after taking some limited work at practice Friday.

Darren McFadden is a game time call. He was able to do more at practice Friday so he could play. Just don’t count on much.

Javon Walker is out.

Donovan McNabb (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday but did fine Thursday and Friday.

Brian Westbrook took hard reps Wednesday and Thursday. They game him some time off at practice Friday. He’ll start against the Bengals.

DeSean Jackson took reps all week including Friday. He has a good matchup this weekend.

Hines Ward returned to practice Thursday and Friday. He’ll start against the Chargers.

Matt Hasselbeck ran the first team all week at practice including Friday. He’ll start against the Cardinals and backup Seneca Wallace (groin) should be available as needed.

Julius Jones did not practice Wednesday but was fine Thursday and Friday. He’s a go.

Deion Branch will start this weekend. He had a good day Friday.

Koren Robinson is probable for week 11.

Frank Gore is set to start. Gore had a full practice Friday and said, "I'll be fine to play.”

Arnaz Battle (foot) and Josh Morgan (groin) are out this week.

Delanie Walker is doubtful with a shoulder situation.

Steven Jackson is out for week 11. He did some drills at practice Wednesday but things got worse Thursday and Friday.

Antonio Pittman (hamstring probable) took reps Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. With Steven Jackson out, word is Pittman will start against the 49ers and both Kenneth Darby and Travis Minor could also be active.

Warrick Dunn is listed as questionable but he took reps all week. With Carnell Williams just coming off the PUP list and RB Earnest Graham (knee) less than 100%, Dunn should play.

Earnest Graham was limited at practice Wednesday-Friday. Word is, he’s considered a game time call for week 11.

Ike Hilliard (shoulder questionable) will play. He took reps all week.

The Bucs don't think TE Alex Smith (ankle) will play this week.

Justin McCareins is officially questionable but he’s not someone to count on anyway.

Ladell Betts is ready to start if Clinton Portis can’t.

Clinton Portis was unable to practice Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. They will likely treat him as a game time call but the writing is on the wall. Plan on Ladell Betts getting the start and Shaun Alexander could also help fill in.

Santana Moss took reps Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. He will start against the Cowboys.

Arizona Republic- Cardinals HC Whisenhunt was asked whether he could see Edgerrin James more involved in the offense this week. "Yeah, I could," he said. "Edge has been doing a good job in practice and you never know how the game is going to go, but I would expect him to get some opportunities in this game."

Buffalo News- Bills starting DE Aaron Schobel (foot) will miss his fifth game, while #2 WR Josh Reed (ankle) likely won't play for a third straight game Monday night. Reed is listed as doubtful for the game against Cleveland. Starting strong safety Donte Whitner hopes to play despite being listed as questionable. Whitner's been nursing a separated shoulder since Buffalo's loss to the Jets two weeks ago. He missed his first game of the season last week in a loss to New England. "I'm feeling good," Whitner said after Friday's practice. "We'll see how it goes. I expect to play, and I want to play, but it's up to [the coaches and trainers]. It depends on how I progress over the next two days."

Chicago Sun Times- The official Bears injury report came out and QB Kyle Orton is indeed probable with his right ankle injury. Orton had limited participation in practice as did CB Charles Tillman (shoulders). LB Hunter Hillenmeyer (right thumb) had full participation. Hillenmeyer and Tillman are probable also. Offensive tackle Fred Miller (shoulder) will not dress. He is doubtful and was held out of practice the last two days.

Chicago Sun Times- Kyle Orton announced after practice Friday that he will be probable for Sunday's game at Green Bay, meaning the Bears' QB will return to the starting lineup after missing one game with a right ankle injury. Orton worked with the first team again in the short practice at Halas Hall and will test out the ankle again Saturday in a brief walk-through before the team travels by bus to Green Bay. "Kyle looked better today than he did [Thursday],'' coach Lovie Smith said. ``So we're keeping our fingers crossed with him. See how it goes for him [saturday], but he's gotten better each day, there's no reason to think that won't continue [through] Sunday.''

Chicago Sun Times- For Green Bay Packers injury report, DE Jeremy Thompson, the best pass rusher the Packers have on the right side, is expected to miss with a pulled groin muscle. He is doubtful. CB Jarrett Bush (ankle), Green Bay's top special teams player, and defensive tackle Justin Harrell (knee) are both questionable.

Green Bay Press Gazette- This might be James Jones ' week to start working his way back toward the #3 receiving job. The third-round draft pick from last year lost the first half of the season because of a sprained knee in training camp. The injury sidelined him for 5 regular-season games and presented physical and mental hurdles that hindered his play in the other four games. But with his improvement on the practice field this week, Jones has a shot at not only being active for the second straight game, but also at getting more than the 12 snaps he had last week against the Vikings. The Packers are hoping a healthier Jones will become another ascending player in their strong receiver rotation for the season's home stretch.

Houston Chronicle- Rookie RB Steve Slaton "has his legs back" coach Gary Kubiak said, and figures to contribute significantly more against the Colts than he did against the Ravens, when he carried only four times for 7 yards.Kubiak blamed it on "hitting the rookie wall."

Colts.com- The Colts on Friday released their third injury report of the week, with Bethea (ankle), Gonzalez (hamstring), Wayne (ankle), Mathis (foot), WR Roy Hall (knee), CB Kelvin Hayden (hamstring), DT Daniel Muir (hamstring), CB Keiwan Ratliff (quadriceps), safety Bob Sanders (knee) and TE Tom Santi (shoulder) listed as questionable. Ratliff and Muir returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday. Dungy said "it's a little easier" for defensive players to play effectively without extensive practice time than offensive players. "It's tougher on offense, because you miss that timing," Dungy said. "It is much easier to do than with rookies or younger players." Dungy said he watched the 2nd half Thursday night as the Jets (7-3) beat the Patriots (6-4) in overtime, 34-31, to move into first place in the AFC East.

Colts.com- The Colts moved closer to full health on Friday. And while HC Tony Dungy said the circumstances surrounding practice this week - with a few starters missing a day and a few more missing more two - aren't ideal, they're hardly unusual. The NFL season is entering its 11th week. Playing through aches and pains and bumps? That's part of the deal in mid-November. Anthony Gonzalez and Reggie Wayne , the Colts' leading receivers, returned to practice Friday, as did Pro Bowl safety Antoine Bethea and defensive end Robert Mathis. The foursome missed practice the first two days of the week and they were among several players missing at least one practice for a variety of reasons this week. None of which Dungy said is odd given the circumstances.

ESPN- Jaguars HC Del Rio on Friday finally cleared up the status of veteran LB Mike Peterson, telling ESPN that Peterson has been permanently demoted to backup status. "Daryl Smith is our starting middle LB," Del Rio said in a telephone conversation after Friday's practice, as the Jaguars got ready for the undefeated Titans. Del Rio was asked if he and Peterson have reached any kind of meeting of the minds after last week's dispute. "There will be no meetings," Del Rio said. "He has to embrace his new role on the team." On Thursday and Friday, Peterson practiced with special teams for the first time in years.

Palm Beach Post- Dolphins guard Matt McChesney is listed as questionable with a knee injury. During the Dolphins' 16-play touchdown drive in the fourth quarter against Seattle, McChesney played several snaps at left guard for Justin Smiley, who had a sore shoulder.

newswatch50: Saints RB Reggie Bush will not dress for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. Bush, three-plus weeks removed from arthroscopic knee surgery, took limited reps in practice on Wednesday but was held out of Thursday and Friday's practice sessions before ultimately deciding to give his injured knee another week's rest.

Palm Beach Post- Raiders LB Ricky Brown (groin) and defensive end Derrick Burgess are listed as doubtful. Along with Russell and McFadden, WR Chaz Schilens (ankle) and QB Andrew Walter (ankle) are listed as questionable.

Palm Beach Post- For the first time in a month, the Oakland Raiders expect to have their offense's two young building blocks on the field together. RB Darren Mcfadden (turf toe) and QB Jamarcus Russell (bruised right knee) have been limited in practice, but Raiders HC Cable said he plans to use them Sunday at Dolphin Stadium. The Raiders' offense is desperate for a spark after going two weeks without a TD. They have the NFL's lowest- scoring offense, averaging 12.6 points. Cable, who was named interim HC when Lane Kiffin was fired Sept. 30, assumed play- calling duties this week, but he'll need players to make them work. Few have as much explosiveness as McFadden, the No. 4 pick last April. He rushed for 164 yards in his second NFL game and averages 5.1 yards a carry, but he has been out since Oct. 19. "He's ridiculous the way he hits the holes," LB Channing Crowder said. "He'll hit a little gap for 20 or 30 yards."

Seattle Herald: Seahawk backup QB Seneca Wallace (groin) also returned to the practice field. Holmgren said he has not decided whether Wallace or Charlie Frye will serve as Hasselbeck's primary backup on Sunday.

Seattle Herald: Seahawks FB Leonard Weaver returned to practice Friday after missing two days with bruised ribs, but Holmgren said it was still not certain whether Weaver would play in the game.

Seattle Herald: The only Seahawk player who has been ruled out of Sunday's game is defensive end Patrick Kerney, who recently underwent shoulder surgery.

Seattle Herald: The Seahawks wrapped up another practice week on Friday afternoon, and all signs point toward the return of QB Matt Hasselbeck on Sunday. Hasselbeck practiced all week with the #1 offense and is expected to start against the Cardinals. "He's had a wonderful week," HC Holmgren said. "Clearly, he's excited about being back." Hasselbeck has missed five games because of a bulging disk in his back. Holmgren said Hasselbeck has passed all the medical tests and has been cleared to play in the game. "He's playing," Holmgren said, "unless all of a sudden he can't get up in the morning."

Seattle Times- SeattleQB Matt Hasselbeck 's return from a nerve problem in his right leg caused by a bulging disk in his back is a huge boost to a passing offense ranked 31st in the league. "I think he's had a wonderful week. He's clearly excited about being back," Holmgren said. "He had a little spring in his step. He threw the ball well. I think everyone enjoyed the fact that he was back practicing again."

Seattle Times- Finally, Matt Hasselbeck and Deion Branch are facing a challenge the Seahawks are thrilled to be dealing with: rust. Seattle's 3-time Pro Bowl passer and former Super Bowl MVP WR worked with the 1st-team offense for the entire practice Friday. So each is ready to start for the first time in 6 weeks Sunday against 1st-place Arizona. They're back for what HC Holmgren says is a must-win game to save Seattle's season. The 4- time defending division champions are 2-7 and trail the Cardinals by 4 games in the NFC West with seven games remaining. "We can label it. It's about time we label one," Holmgren said, laughing. "I've always said that, until mathematically you can't do it anymore, you have hope. So, we're getting to that point right now. This is a must-win game."

ESPN- Rams RB Steven Jackson will not play Sunday against the 49ers because of his injured right thigh. Jackson did not practice Friday. By sitting out at San Francisco, he will have missed three of the last four games. Antonio Pittman and Travis Minor will be the RBs. Pittman, who has been playing through a hamstring injury, has 40 yards on 23 carries in the past two games.

newschannel34: Rams RB Steven Jackson will not play Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers because of a strained right thigh muscle. "Steven's [Jackson] out, he's not traveling [to San Francisco]," Rams interim coach Jim Haslett said on Friday. Jackson was hurt during the October 19 game against Dallas, despite rushing for 160 yards and three touchdowns, then missed two of the Rams' next three games, including last Sunday's 47-3 blowout loss to the Jets. For the season, Jackson has 525 yards on 128 carries with four touchdowns and has added 25 catches for 259 yards.

ESPN- Big-hitting safety John Lynch's crunching collisions are over. Lynch has decided to retire, officially ending his career with a news conference Monday in Tampa, Fla.

ESPN- Redskins CB Shawn Springs (calf) and Marcus Washington (shoulder) both practiced for the first time this week. Washington is probable and Springs is questionable, although Zorn said he was "more encouraged" about Springs' chances of playing than about Washington's chances.

ESPN- Redskins RB Clinton Portis ' backup, Ladell Betts, is probable after missing three games with a sprained knee. Betts was limited in practice Friday. "We're just trying to get his knee ready," Zorn said. "It was sore a little bit today because of the work he put in yesterday." If neither Portis nor Betts can play, midseason signing and former league MVP Shaun Alexander would make his first Redskins start.

ESPN- Redskins RB Clinton Portis did not practice again Friday and will be used only "in a limited fashion" if he is able to play Sunday night against the Cowboys. The NFL's2nd-leading rusher was able to watch practice -- unlike Wednesday and Thursday, when his sprained left knee kept him away from the field -- and was "getting some mental reps in case he has a chance to go," according to coach Jim Zorn. Portis sprained the knee in the 23-6 loss to the Steelers before last week's bye. He is questionable on the injury report. "I would use him, if he could go, in a limited fashion," Zorn said.

NFL.com confirms that Derrick Mason (shoulder) will be active for Week 11 against the Giants.

Mason's sling for his dislocated shoulder could limit his ability to make tough catches and in this matchup he is not an advised play. The Ravens will also have FS Ed Reed (hamstring) active and all three running backs available.
