Ursa Majoris
A receiver catches the ball with one knee down and no defender within a country mile, yet he can't go on and gain any YAC?
HowboutthemCowboys
A receiver catches the ball with one knee down and no defender within a country mile, yet he can't go on and gain any YAC? never understood that rule. I assume it's sposed to protect players but may be wrong. either way makes no sense
theprofessor
Always been that way. When your knee's down, you're down.
Ursa Majoris
Always been that way. When your knee's down, you're down. Yes, I get that but surely it should be down by contact, same as the NFL? Great catches of balls scooped off the turf go unrewarded. Silly, IMO. TripleW64
Has there ever been any real discussion of changing the rule? Even though "it's always been that way" it used to always be a gazillion ties each year until they (the NCAA) came into the 21st century and instituted their version of overtime. (another topic altogether.)
