Hey guys!

first of all, i'm not from the US and for that, not a native english speaker. so excuse me if i make some mistakes.

i'm looking for your advice because in the next week we are drafting our players for the upcoming

season our dynasty league.

we are in our 4th season now, and when we started i was totaly new to fantasy football and i picked nearly nothing but crap. =P

but my team is getting better over the years (12th - 11th - 9th place _ it's something ^^)

Our 12 - Man league settings:

starting team / roster:

  • Quarterback: 1
  • Running Back: 2
  • Wide Receiver: 2
  • Tight End: 1
  • Kicker: 1
  • Defensive Team: 1
  • Running Back / Wide Receiver / Tight End: 1
  • Bench: 6
  • Reserve: 1

Scoring Settings (maybe offens is enough...tell me if not!)

  • Passing Yards: 1 point per 25 yards
  • Passing Touchdowns: 4 points
  • Interceptions Thrown: -2 points
  • Rushing Yards: 1 point per 10 yards
  • Rushing Touchdowns: 6 points
  • Receiving Yards: 1 point per 10 yards
  • Receiving Touchdowns: 6 points
  • Fumble Recovered for TD: 6 points
  • Fumbles Lost: -2 points
  • 2-Point Conversions: 2 points

My last seasons team:

QB: Newton, Bridgewater

WR: Julio Jones, Davante Adams, Jarvis Landry, Brandon LaFell, Marvin Jones, C. Patterson

RB: Lamar Miller, Jonathan Stewart, Andre Ellington, Andre Williams

TE: Martellus Bennet, Antonio Gates

K: Hauschka

Def: Colts

i thought about dropping Bridgewater (or not, because of the injury of kelvin benjamin?), Marvin Jones, Patterson, Andre Williams and Antonio Gates (bc of his 4 games suspension..maybe).

i can't really say which players will be available in the draft, cause i don't now the keepers of

my mates...of course i do not.

so maybe you could give me some opinions about on which rookies (cooper, white, GUrley, Gordon...) i should concentrate or on which position (rb? wr?). are there any insider tips?

i also got a trade request from our last year champ. i want me to trade my julio jones / jonathan stewart for his c anderson / aj green.

in my opinion, julio jones is my only top player and i shouldn't trade him for a weeker player...my

thoughts are that jones is using only one space on my team and the two other need their two slots.

do you know what i mean?

i'm not sure if our champion knows something i don't...he is normally way better informed than me. =/

if you made it through my long post and are still reading...thanks a lot.

i would appreciate an answer. =)

Greetings

As far as the trade goes, I would decline. Julio is top tier offensive threat with a solid QB and the easiest schedule. If Stewart were to have a big year, this would be it. They will feed him the ball and he does not have much competition at his position.

I don't trust Andy Dalton to get Green the ball consistently, especially since they will focus more so on the running game. The huddle thinks highly of CJ Anderson but it seems like Hillman may not be too far behind him on the list, so I don't trust him

I like JJ more than Green but I like CJ more than Stewart who's always an injury risk,.. he has the RB1 spot for now but also there is a rookie ready to steal some time should he go down which is pretty much a trend.

Usually whoever is running in the backfield for DEN will do well the problem is if CJ goes down who will it be you'll have to have 2-3 backups. Hillman is the best if you made the trade and could get Hillman I'd feel pretty good with the potential of CJ.

I think you'd upgrade your backfield with CJ he's more of a RB1 than Miller. I'd hate losing JJ but AJ green is the real deal in Cincy regardless of Dalton, Dalton's poor performance hurts Dalton, usually great WR's like Green can cash in on only a few catches he's one of them. JJ gets the majority of the volume but CJ Anderson plays on a team that cashes in on the goal line often with RB's historically the primary back will get to 10 tds can't say that for Stewart in recent years.

Marvin Jones and Patterson could be replaced with Funchess, Perriman, Agholor, Cooper..

Bridgewater could be ok for dynasty.. he's trending the right direction playing well even without the presence of AP yet which is crazy to think about. MN could be tough until they s' the proverbial bed.

I would keep Bridgewater, he's a great QB to switch out for matchups especially if you don't have a top tier QB (Rodgers/Luck). He is really consistent and in addition to having a year under his belt, he has Wallace and AP.

Your trade doesn't make sense though because you say it is a 2 (Julio & J Stew) for 2 (Green & Anderson) but then end that by saying you don't want to trade 2 for 1. Assuming it is 2 for 2, it's kind of a compelling trade as you are weak at RB and while you would slightly downgrade at WR, you would benefit a lot from adding Anderson and having Miller as your #2. J Stew has had a hype train for 4 years and all of a sudden he is going to do well because D. Williams isn't there anymore? J. Stew was constantly getting injured with a committee approach, a full workload won't change that.

I would drop Patterson for Cameron-Artis Payne. Especially if you decide to keep Julio & Stewart. He is a needed handcuff for Stewart and has already taken the #2 spot behind him at RB, look for him to take the starting job.

exactly my thoughts JJ is a huge talent but AJ Green isn't dirt he's right there.. CJ's ceiling and the team he's on makes him a bigger upgrade which boosts the trade into his favor, I would do this as you don't lose next to nothing giving JJ for AJ and you get a much better RB in CJ Anderson with high upside... with that you should consider trying to have Hillman as well if possible for insurance.

na...maybe i just couldn't explain my thoughts on that good enough. but let's not go deeper on that 2 for 2 - 2 for 1 thing.

you are all right altogether. ;)

i understand your arguments and think that i should make the trade at all...but maybe for some better conditions.

this afternoon i declined the trade but said that it wasn't easy for me. i was asked for a counter offer thereupon, or if he

could give me a better one. it seems, my league-mate wants JJ badly.

i told him, i could make use of ronnie hillman as backup...although hillman is playing for another player, let's see what he can do.

i will keep you up to date. thanks for your advice so far.

PS: can you explain to me the meaning of "committee"? i can translate it, but that didn't bring me further. is there a special meaning

for "committee" in the nfl universe? does it mean, that he has to retire? or that the panthers kick him out of the team bc of his injuries?

Hey Guys,

newest offer is:

CJ Anderson + AF Green + (CJ Spiller or Gio Bernard or Ronnie Hillmann) for Julio and Jonathan Stewart

another option would be lamar miller or davante adams instead of stewart...

i prefer Anderson+Green+Hillmann for Julio and stewart so far.

any opinions?

To answer your question on committee, that just means that the team uses more than 1 player at the position on a regular basis. As far as that trade goes I would take that in a heartbeat. You are getting a big upgrade at RB, and only a slight downgrade if any at WR. Getting him to throw in Hillman to protect CJ Anderson was a nice move.
