  1. ESPN had a headline after the Monday Night game this week that said, "Eli cut, but feeling ok". For about 2 miliseconds I thought, "THE GIANTS RELEASED ELI????" lol. I had even watched the game and saw him run off the field with blood dripping down his face, but it was a poor choice of wording for the headline.
  2. Pure speed can be successful at WR, but as an NFL RB you have to be able to take a hit and Slaton can't do that. He's a paper doll with a huge fumbling problem. I can't really say I'm shocked, he's so fast I doubt he was hit hard many times all the way through Pop Warner, High School and at West Virginia -- however the NFL is a different story, no matter who you are you are going to be smashed many times a game. That being said, he's still a good value pick in PPR leagues, but I wouldn't touch him in a non-PPR.
  3. 13 games works best for 10 and 14 team leagues. In 10-teamers, you have 2 Divisions and play each division team twice (8 games) and the other 5 teams once. In a 14-teamer you just play everyone once. In 12-teamers, it gets a little messier to split, unless you're ok with going with 4 divisions of 3 teams each -- in that setup you play Division twice (4 games) and the other 9 teams once.
  4. I ran a 15-team league once and we rotated through doubleheaders, so at least 1 team each week would play 2 games. It worked out so that we played 16 games each in 13 weeks (so everyone had 3 doubleheaders spread out during the year, you can do less doubleheaders to make it cleaner). I made sure the schedule was posted prior to the draft so teams could avoid big bye weeks during their double header weeks.
  5. My team sucks, let's just get that out of the way before you can't see from laughing... Start 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DT Standard Scoring I had P. Manning, K. Warner, G. Frerrotte K. Jones, L. Jordan, W. Parker, T. Bell, St. Davis, D. Foster N. Burleson, M. Clayton, T. Glenn, J. Jurevicius, A. Lelie, B. Lloyd, S. McDonald L.J. Smith N. Rackers, L. Tynes Falcons, Bengals I made 2 deals last night... P. Manning, K. Jones, M. Clayton, B. Lloyd, L.J. Smith, N. Rackers for M. Bulger, M. Anderson (Den Handcuff), D. Driver, I. Bruce, A. Crumpler, A. Vinatieri 2nd deal K. Waner, St. Davis, D. Foster, Falcons DT for B. Roethlisberger, M. Shipp, J.J. Arrington, Jets DT Lineup before trades... PManning, GFrerotte, LJordan, TBell, TGlenn, JJurevicius, fill in the blank, LJ Smith, Tynes, Falcons Lineup after trades... MBulger, BRoethlisberger, LJordan, TBell, DDriver, TGlenn, JJurevicius, ACrumpler, AVinatieri, Bengals/Jets I had to do something, I'm sitting at 2-4 in 2nd to last in 10 man league. Did I upgrade at all, or just move around different worthless pieces of garbage?
  6. Good pickup. Although Jacksonville threw a lot this weekend, most of it was to Jimmy Smith and they're gonna run a lot and play defense. Charles Rogers is already hurt, tweaked ankle. Charles is a paper doll that'll break again soon. Williams scored in his first game. He's not gonna get a lot of yards, but he's going to be a big red zone target and will sneak an occasional TD. Could be huge if/when Rogers is done for the year.
  7. I'd wait on this one. LJ is worth his weight in Gold right now to even none Priest owners. He should be giving you more to get LJ as insurance, Wayne to Holt isn't enough of an upgrade. I'd hold off, or at least try to get another upgrade from him. 1 low tackle, 1 rolled ankle, ANYTHING by Priest and you've got THE #1 Fantasy Player in the NFL.
  8. I go with Warner and Bennett. The Giants defense is so-so and they are missing a starting CB. Both teams in that matchup have bad defenses so it'll be somewhat of a shootout. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 230 yards and 2 TDs is very possible. The Pittsburgh run defense is MUCH better than their pass defense. The Titans will be trailing and trailing early. McNair is healthy (or so he says) and will put the ball up often with Norm Chow at OC. Bennett will have 100 yards and a TD this week.
  9. Yeah, it's a dumb trade, but not an unfair trade.
  10. That's a tough one. You're right, none of them jump off the page, but all of them seem pretty equal. I'd wait a week on Parker, he could go off, but against a decent defense being the 5th option on offense may not lead to good numbers. Stallworth could be big, but could be a dud on grass (a long with just plain sucking). Plaxico is in a new situation, but appeared to have picked up the offense in the preseason. He'll be their #1 target ahead of Toomer/Shockey, and against a defense that can be exploited, he's a decent play. Lee Evans is a superstar in the making. He's got the size, speed and hands to be a Pro-Bowler in this league. His achillies heel...JP Losman. So goes JP, goes Lee. I think Losman will handle the pressue at times, and against a weak Houston pass rush, Losman should have time to find Evans downfield. Evans and Burress would be my choices with Stallworth 3rd.
  11. Loveyouranus Coles is the best pick. Good weather in KC, their front 7 is much improved, making it tougher to run against them. Pennington will have to throw a good amount, and Coles is his #1 target. The game should be high scoring.
  12. The Bears are going to surprise some people. I'm in no way a Bears fan at all, but Orton is better than people give him credit for, they have a solid O-Line with two decent backs. Muhammad, Gage & Clayton give them a decent receiving group, and the strength of the team is Lovie Smith's defense, which has now had some time to pick up and impliment the scheme. Plus Urlacher is healthy for the first time in over a year. Not saying they are going to the play-offs or anything, but it seems as if the Bears are being perceived as a 3 or 4 win team with a radar lock on Matt Leinart. But I think this team can pull out 5 to 7 wins, in an overrated division (both the Vikings and Lions are overrated and the Packers are getting old and bad very fast.) I'd go with Muhsin without a 2nd thought. Washington's front 7 is pretty strong, but they've lost a lot in the last 2 years in the secondary (Smoot this year will be a big loss). The Bears should struggle in the running game, which will mean they will throw a good amount. Hopefully for you, those passes are going the way of Muhammad.
