  1. And the truth of the matter is, J-Stew should be carrying even more of the load. D'Angelo looks JV compared to Stewart. Sneeze on Williams and he goes down. Stewart glides through holes and defenders bounce off him. At least they're not compounding the D-Will problem by letting his contract dictate playing time. Stewart is simply far and away the better RB.
  2. As mentioned, you'll see similar of most all every down backs. Guy named Barry Sanders being most prominent. (Not to compare Hightower to Sanders) The only thing I noticed watching the game was the burst Tim had that Edgerrin hasn't had since his arrival in AZ.
  3. No shot I'd take Grant/Addai/MJD or probably Ronnie (with Ricky) ahead of Hightower. Addai has been brutal for going on 16+ games now (his YPC is somewhere around 3.2 over that span). Hightower is in a fantasy goldmine. Wouldn't be surprise to see his 2nd half #'s rival Barbers. Edit: Nor would I take Jamal ahead of Hightower with a virtual rookie QB in Quinn back there now.
  4. Kudos to Wix making the move. Most coaches don't make it due to loyality to a proven vet RB. James has been the posterchild for mediocrity since coming to AZ.
  5. Glad to see someone else have Hightower ranked as a #1 RB (12 teams) I have him in my Top 10. Tremendous opportunity ahead of him. Should easily be this year's Grant/Graham.
  6. I was considering trading for Palmer, but between how that entire offense has looked & that schedule this year, I think he'll be lucky to finish in the Top 15 QB's. I read something like the last 7 games, he's thrown all of 5 TD's (I know he finished miserably last year as well). Dropping Palmer outright in a keeper is pretty questionable obviously [JMO you can still get a Top 10 QB for him based on his rep], but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more INT's than TD's from Carson over the course of the year. I'd be shocked if he remained healthy all year -- the guy has no time to throw the ball (to go along with his accuracy issues)
  7. Darren McFadden (turf toe) was "limited" in Raiders practice Friday. His playing status for Sunday will likely down to an issue of pain tolerance. This is looking like a situation to avoid because the Bills rush defense is strong. If McFadden is "up," he's looking more like a flex play than a RB2 now. --------------- I don't know why they're even considering playing him after seeing what LT is going through (obviously suffering and not the same player). I'd keep him out this week and next & with a bye the following week, you give him 4 weeks of rest and only miss him for 2 games. Then again, this is the same franchise that could of had a muligan on the Javon Walker signing (he offered to return his signing bonus to retire) and for some reason gave stiffs like Tommy Kelly & D'Angelo Hall over $115 million.
  8. Shaun Alexander/Rudi Johnson and now Larry Johnson. I'm sure he'll have a couple decent games(because he's bound to get 20 carries at least a couple more times this year). The Chiefs looked like a JV team when Thigpen was in there last week. (Not that they looked much better with Croyle) They just looked like a bunch of 5 year olds on offense not having a clue where to go vs. the Raiders.
  9. Don't know which is worse: Them allowing him to play with this or paying $55 million on a 30-year old headcase WR who has no desire to play anymore with a shot knee.
  10. I'd start Johnson (vs. Cincy) over Addai (vs. MN) w/o hesitation in PPR (only leagues I play in). Barring some sort of in-game injury, It'd be a shocker he's not Top 10 this week. The repeated head issues Addai has are worrisome. So is the 3.5 ypc or thereabout he's averaged on the ground for the past 10 or so games. I expect Rhodes to see quite a bit of work this week -- Not to mention they're playing the great run D of Minn.
  11. I think they should play 2nite for 1 play. If Ahman Green stays healthy for that 1 play, Houston wins. If not, Baltimore wins. ------------- I don't think DTV carried the rescheduled game previously. I think I saw Houston/Balt CBS markets will televise locally. The rest of the country will probably prefer viewing Survivor Version 25220: Beirut.
  12. Hence why I made the comment.... Sanders career was made of -3, 0, 2, 1, 3, 60, 1, -4, etc.. I'd consider him to be pretty impressive. As far as Mendenhall, he looks a ways away from being a big part of that offense. As an Illinois alum/fan, I thought he was the most NFL ready back to come out. I was wrong. He thought his physical ability would stand out. To this point, it hasn't. Only his penchant for putting the ball on the ground -- which I didn't see a whole lot of in college.
  13. Could you do the career of Barry Sanders?
  14. Some of you guys should qualify PPR or not (regardless Johnson was a stud Week 1). He is a starter in PPR leagues and is the lead dog in Tennessee. If you didn't see the game Sunday, realize the carries were only 15/15 because Johnson was in the locker room. [Lendale had 9 carries through 3 quarters; had 6 carries on the final 2 drives/last 6:00 of the game] Own Johnson in 3 leagues. Have received offers from the White owners in all 3 leagues. You can bend over all you want [Lendale owners], but you aren't getting my Johnson. There's not a single facet of the game in which Lendale is superior to Johnson. Don't bring between the tackles running the equation .......Johnson looked sensational there Sunday. I'm sure they put the blob in there in short yardage to avoid having Johnson take the pounding. Which is smart to do, to keep your best (and only) offensive weapon healthy. Johnson is your 2008 Rookie of the Year if he remains healthy. .
  15. I value him as a Top 10 RB right now in PPR leagues.Chris Johnson will not be dealt off any of my teams. I wouldn't even consider accepting a player that would be taken outside the first 2 rounds (top 24 players) if a draft were held today in a PPR league. You're not going to get Johnson for a WR2. If you do, the owner is either part of the White family or doesn't get to see Titan games.
