Maybe I'm interpreting this differently than you all but he said he originally picked up the players as sleepers and decided to cut them later in the week when it became clearer as to who would play. He kept one player an extra day in order to ensure his opponent could not pick him up.
That to me is not churning. Churning is done when there is intent by the party that picks up the player and drops the player to solely keep another team from having that player. IMO at least according to his explanation he did not do that. He made a strategic move to cover himself and give himself the most options he could. When he decide later in the week he would not use these players he cut them but he did it strategically. To me that is just smart and it's something lots of players do. We all reconsider lineups later in the week even if we picked a player off the WW earlier in the week.
To me he got screwed and also did nothing wrong.
Let's face a lot of people are scumbags. They join leagues they don't have to pay at the beginning because they're all experts and there's no way they won't cash. That way they won't have to anti up. Then they miss the playoffs and lo and behold no check ever comes. Losers!!
FYI..................League I just finished in. I was 7-3 and 3 games ahead with 4 to play. Lost the last 4 and tiebreaker to miss playoffs. Immediately emailed commish to find where I could mail a check. Mailed it before last night's game even kicked off.
It’s called morals people what's so hard about it?
FU*K now you all went and made me mad.
Well that's true but you need to change the rule at the beginning of the year. You can't just change the rules when it suits your needs regardless of what little harm you may think it's doing. Sh1t happens but bottom line it's your fault for not fully understanding the rules and to change something in the middle upsets the integrity of the league.
How do you think the team Scorcher is playing against this week feels about this ruling? I'd be pisssed but that's me.
I had to wait until all the players unlocked before the trade went through. Almost cost me a win. It was the week Luck played SD on MNF. My opponent only needed 11 points to beat me and I think he got 8. Anyway we did not have the players until the next week.
We had to wait because Hakeem Nicks played that Thursday night. I know you think what happened was OK but it does go against the rules of the league and regardless of whether the guy was using Fleener or not it was wrong. What about the other teams in your league that may have had the opp to make a trade during the week but didn't because they knew the rule. I am firmly against changing anything in the middle of the season regardless of how little you may think it affects things.
Just one man's opinion.
Bad decision by the commish. It's your responsibility to know the rules of your league. Ignorance is not a defense. If I was in the league I'd be up in arms about that. It's a dishonest move by the commish.
The trade was agreed upon thus done deal. No give backs ever. Injuries happen every week and if we could predict them, then we'd all be rich. Bottom line is play the hand you're dealt. It sux but it is what it is.
Curious to know what people prefer in point per reception leagues. Do you like 1 PPR or .5 PPR?
I did this type of scoring last year and we used 1 PPR. Seemed like a bit too much for me so I was thinking of going to 1/2 PPR this year.
Could I get some Huddlers thoughts on this please?
