They have a weak division which may get weaker if Warner retires. Every year there is a lot of turnover for playoff teams and the 49ers are a good pick to fill the void next year. Although I doubt a wild card is possible for them, the division is very likely.

They seem to have everything in place to take the next step. One more year of growth and a couple pieces here and there should make them a contender. What are other people's thoughts?

I agree Warner should be first ballot, but I think he will settle for just getting in considering how many quality years he had. Those years were damn good though.

I think we'll see next year what Leinert is made of. They can't go out and get another QB without giving him a real chance first.

Hall of famer in my book. But a good time to hang them up. Leinert should be ok next year and a decent franchise quarterback.

I like the idea of having a breakout player like Forsett as a RB2 if I grab receivers early.

I feel better about Felix Jones breaking a touchdown run than Barbar piling up and kind of useful yards.

I don't think he needs a Super Bowl win. But just getting to the NFC Championship game and playing decent should be enough to shut up the naysayers for one year.
