Speaking of Barolo...

One of my distributors showed me a close out list and I zeroed in on 2000 Bricco Rocche Barolos from Brunate and Prapo vineyards... $37 each.

 

Nice indeed.

 

Ordered a few of each on the spot just on reputation and vintage and found the Brunate got ranked 1st among all the top 2000 Barolos when Parker and his crew tried them all blind a little while ago

 

Also scored some very servicable Kiwi Sauv Blanc for $1.79 a bottle. Snapped up a case figuring I could give it out to the waitstaff if it sucked. It was actually comepletely solid.

 

Billay? Do you buy from Empire? You've got to keep an eye on those blowouts.

 

Last time around the deals were even crazier. Stuff that usually wholesales for $90/bottle going for $25.

Nice score!! I miss the days of our old distributor having a friends and family "garage sale"! Or when a lot of Asians came into the Denver area and bought up liqour stores... I found GREAT deals on wines for about 2 and a half years.
