rocknrobn26
My cuz in CA called me last nite saying she disconnected her WD HD w/o going to "Safely remove Hardware". Since then she cannot access the drive and the light on it won't stop flashing. Do you think she fried it? I had her shutdown, unplug, re-start, re-plugin and still nothing. It's only 2 months old. The driver s/w is on the drive, so a reinstall won't work. Should I see if it's in device manager and uninstall there? Any other ideas? Riffraff
1. Device manager, uninstall the device. Reboot. 2. Plug into a different USB port and/or uninstall USB port in device manager. 3. Connect to another computer. 4. Redownload software from the internet for the drive. 5. If all else fails, reformat drive and try to recover the data on it. Would suggest some programs to do so, but not at home right now.
