jaxfactor
The song Mickey's Monkey was written by the Miracles(as in Smokey Robinson). I just found an old cassette I had of a group called Mother's Finest. They redid the song only with a serious twist. The song completely rips off the music from "Custard Pie" by Zeppelin. Right down to the break the music is exactly Custard Pie but with Mickey's Monkey lyrics. Anyone ever heard this? How did Mother's Finest get away with this? jaxfactor
Hmmm....Mother's Finest There tune was...."You aint worth the salt in my tears"..No? I don't know PD. I only had that one cassette that I just stumbled across. It was called "another Mother Further". I do know or at least am pretty sure that they were unique at the time as they were a black band that played rock and roll before Living Color ever came into existance. Ok, I got the cassette here in my hands. Copyrighted 1977, which was 2 years after the release of Custard Pie by Zeppelin. Track listing: Mickey's Monkey Truth'll Set You Free Thank You For The Love Piece Of The Rock Baby Love Burning Love Dis Go Dis Way, Dis Go Dat Way Hard Rock Lover I'm pretty sure now that I bought the cassette because of the Zep ripoff. Didn't ever give it much of a listen. Maybe I should.
