MTSuper7
12 team league with PPR, my team is in my sig. Points are weighted a little more for TDs, especially with yardage bonuses. Anyway, I have been offered the following trade: He trades me Antonio Gates and Laveranues Coles for my Chad Johnson and Santonio Holmes I am 4-4 and on the bubble for the playoffs. He is 3-5 and desperate for WRs. I am doing pretty well at WR. I think this is worth the risk on Coles, but wanted some huddler feedback. Here's my analysis so far: Gates for Johnson is in my favor at the moment. Coles for Santonio is in my favor long-term, assuming Coles will be fine after their week 10 bye. However, assuming Coles won't play this weekend, I will have three of my 5 WRs on the bye in week 10, and two of those three out this week anyway (Andre Johnson and Coles). I'll be forced to make another trade or pickup a #3 WR on waivers for next week. So, am I too close to the playoff bubble to risk being shorthanded at WR for the next two weeks? I will be in excellent position starting week 11 with Braylon, Welker, Andre Johnson, and Coles along with Gates, LT, AP, and Lynch. For now, I'm going to sit on the offer until I hear a little more about Coles. But for now, assume he'll be fine by week 11 when responding. One other question - is it foolish to have Rivers, LT and Gates (even though I've been starting Eli)? Thanks for your help, huddlers!!! SpinalTapp
I would actually do this deal. I think Gates will have as many TDs as Chad for the rest of the year. You can plug Edwards and Welker or Edwards and Coles in at WR. Ultimately, I would rather have Edwards, Coles/Welker, and Gates than Olsen, Chad, Braylon. JMO. MmmMmmGood
I would do the deal if you felt perfectly comfortable with the next 2 bye weeks. If you feel you could work it out then I love the huge upgrade at TE from your perspective. Adding Gates is like adding a top-10 WR. I actually don't expect Gates to outperform CJ the rest of the way ... but all Gates has to do is outperform your old TE by more than CJ outperforms your new WR. Make sense? It does, and actually once week 11 gets here, as long as the production stays the same, I don't even see CJ starting for my team. Braylon and Welker have both outperformed CJ thus far and Andre Johnson has the potential to do so based on what we saw in the first two games. It'll be dicey getting through the week 10 bye, but the guy I'm playing this week has Holt and Plaxico on the bye and my week 10 opponent is 1-7 with a pretty weak team. I think I can accept this trade with confidence. Thanks everyone!!!!
broncos00
I think I would do this, but you have to be aware that C. Johnson and Palmer might start to connect soon and Coles is going through a QB change so could be in for a tough time. But overall I would do this trade, Gates is a stud. the joker
Gates put up WR numbers anyway, make the trade
tatz4ever
I don't think you NEED Coles after Week 11. You recievers are putting up nice numbers. I would do the trade.
MTSuper7
Made the trade this morning. The commissioner doesn't seem thrilled with it. He and I have the top two scoring teams, and there is a significant drop off after us. It hasn't been approved yet, but should go through without issue. Thanks, Huddlers!!!
