rbmcdonald
Instalment 1: New Hampshire & New York Delaware October 31, 2007 is the last day to register to vote in a primary for the 2008 Presidential Election. When you register to vote, you can declare a party affiliation (Democrat, Republican, etc.), if you do not declare a party affiliate, you will be labeled an Independent. The Delaware Primary is scheduled for Feb 5, 2008. Only voters registered as a Democrat can vote in the Democratic Presidential Primary, and the same for registered Republicans and the Republican primary. Voters already registered, and listed as Independents will not be able to vote in either primary, unless they re-register on or before 10/31/07. Again, the result of this is that voters in Delaware must register and declare as a Rep or Dem, 97 days before the primary and over a year before the actual election. If they do not, then their ability to vote for our next President will be effectively limited to voting for whoever the Republicans and Democrats nominate.
