TDFFFreak Posted November 12, 2007 Share Posted November 12, 2007 I finally had a chance to see this. Probably my favorite movie of the year thus far. It was 2.5 hours long (I seem to notice when movies are well over 2 hours) and enjoyed every minute of it. Crowe and Washington were great and I was totally involved. I really like Goodfellas, but this was better for me personally. The argument could be made either way and I am sure many, if not most, would like Goodfellas better. I just thought this was a bit more entertaining to me. We'll see how I feel about it after the test of time, but my immediate reaction is that it's a great movie and I liked it better than Goodfellas. As I said, most will like Goodfellas better, but I think it's a lot closer with Goodfellas in quality and entertainment than that. The story is well written, and the direction is superb. It certainly should rank right up there with Goodfellas and the Godfather films.
