sounds like DSL problem. Intermittent Connectivity .

 

 

Open a command prompt and type in

 

ping yahoo.com -t

 

 

wait about 20 minutes and hit CTRL C , check if you've lost any packets on this ping test.

 

Could be related to your DSL, modem or ethernet controller , make sure you go to your pc manufacturer site and download the latest drivers for your controller , then call your DSL and ask them to ping your modem to check for any problems , you'll need to ask for tech support.

 

To eliminate the possiblity of a cpu or harddrive bottleneck, in the run prompt, type in msconfig , go to start up options and uncheck all programs aside of your AV Protection and reboot.

 

Report back if that doesn't resolve anything.
