Cowboys May Still Draft McFadden?

Because the Cowboys and RB Marion Barber are so far apart in talks on a new deal, the Boston Globe speculates that the team may be inclined to trade both of their first-round picks (22 & 28) for RB Darren McFadden if he slips to the late top-10 in this year's draft.

It's being speculated that both sides are a good $10 million apart after talks took place last week. With his smashmouth running style, Barber might not be able to carry the ball 350+ times this year without injuring himself. The deal the team if offering is a five-year deal with a total of $30 million, while Barber is seeking a deal worth $40 million.

D.Robinson Ahead of Schedule?

CB Dunta Robinson appears to be ahead of schedule in his rehab from knee and hamstring injuries. Robinson was told by renowned specialist Dr. James Andrews that "he might be able to get back on the field as early as September," according to the Houston Chronicle.

It is unlikely that the Texans will rush Robinson back. However, getting Robinson back in the lineup would be a real plus for the Texans. He was showing glimpses of becoming a Pro Bowl caliber cornerback prior to his injury. Keep a careful eye on this situation as it may affect the draft strategy of the Texans if they do not feel the need to select a cornerback early in the 2008 Draft. If so, this could lead to early investment in an offensive lineman or a running back.
