godtomsatan Posted August 25, 2008 Share Posted August 25, 2008 A high school drama teacher faces the cancellation of his class by putting together a musical sequal to the Shakespeare play (the joke being that every major character in the "first" Hamlet died). Several very funny moments, and might be offensive for some with a very non-traditional portrayal of Jesus Christ (though, explained in terms of "marketing" the second coming). And anyone from Tucson. Think the comedic approach of South Park meeting the neurosis of Woody Allen set in drama class (if you were involved in drama in HS or college, some of the characters will be very familiar). This has been a good summer for comedies, with Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, and now Hamlet 2. Steve Coogan might be on the verge of becoming a full-blown movie star in this country with his turn as the director in TT, and the lead in this one.
